The Seminole Tribe of Florida controls sports betting in the Sunshine State, with its Hard Rock Bet being the only legal mobile app available. This hard-won exclusivity now finds the tribe regularly handling upwards of $1 billion monthly in the most populous state to have legalized sports betting.

Florida is the third most populous state in the United States and, as of 2025, the most populous to have legalized sports betting. What a coup, then, for the Seminole Tribe of Florida to be the Sunshine State's exclusive purveyor of sports betting through its Hard Rock Bet apparatus.
Yes, that Hard Rock. What started as a humble London hamburger joint in 1971 is now one of the world's most recognizable entertainment and leisure brands -- complete with live music, lush resorts, rock and roll memorabilia, casino gaming, and the Hard Rock Bet Sportsbook. Save for a handful of holdovers, the Seminoles control the brand and its properties -- as well as sports betting in all of Florida.
There's a chance that could change one day. The tribe has forged partnerships with local parimutuels, per its compact with the state, and has expressed an openness toward taking on commercial partners like DraftKings and FanDuel. But according to that 2021 compact, any of those partners would have to kick 60% of all sports betting revenue back to the Seminoles, which might prove discouraging.
