Zenyatta worked six furlongs in 1:13.80 at Hollywood Park on Saturday as she continues to target the $250,000 Lady’s Secret Stakes Oct. 2 during the Oak Tree meet there. The Grade 1 Lady’s Secret, a 1 1/16-mile Cushion Track race, is likely to be the second-to-last start of Zenyatta’s career. She is expected to defend her title in the Breeders’ Cup Classic at Churchill Downs on Nov. 6. According to Hollywood Park, Zenyatta worked with stablemate El Vino on Saturday. Hollywood clocker Russ Hudak caught her in opening fractions of 25.20, 37.40, and 49.60, with a final quarter-mile in 24.20 and a seven-furlong gallop-out time of 1:27.60. Owned by Jerry and Ann Moss and trained by John Shirreffs, Zenyatta is unbeaten in 18 starts and has won the last two runnings of the Lady’s Secret.
