HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - Yuugiri’s late dam Yuzuru made her mark on the grass, but her daughter is likely headed to the Kentucky Oaks after picking up 100 points for the classic for a gusty neck win over Beguine in the Grade 3, $600,000 Fantasy on Saturday at Oaklawn Park.   It was another three lengths back in third to Bubble Rock, who was two lengths clear of fourth-place finisher I Feel the Need. The second- through fourth-place finishers also earned points, on a scale of 40-20-10.   Yuugiri ($10.20) moved to the fore at the start of the 1 1/16-mile race and was up by a length through an opening quarter in 22.89 seconds, a half-mile in 46.65 and six furlongs in 1:11.46. Beguine sat just off the lead and moved to seriously challenge that one in the stretch, with the pair battling in the late stages.   Following the race there was in inquiry into the drive, but the stewards made no change to the order of finish. Yuugiri covered the distance on a fast track in 1:43.65.   :: Serious horseplayers use serious products. To be honest, she was very tight the last sixteenth of a mile, but she showed a lot of heart and that’s what made the difference.” Rodolphe Brisset said Yuugiri's stakes-winning dam, Yuzuru, recently died. She raced for Yuugiri’s breeders and owners, Tsunebumi and Sekie Yoshihara. Yuzuru registered both of her wins on turf, with her biggest coming in the Forever Together Stakes at Delaware Park.    Yuugiri on Saturday was making her second start of the year, after running third to Secret Oath in the Grade 3 Honeybee on Feb. 26 at Oaklawn. Brisset was looking for a move forward in the Fantasy.   Geroux was riding Yuugiri for the first time Saturday.   “She has a high cruising speed,” he said. “She just has a big heart, lots of determination. She really put her head down and she was going to get it done for me.”   :: Take your handicapping to the next level and play like a pro with free Formulator, DRF's premium data product Yuugiri previously earned 4 points for the Kentucky Oaks when she was second in the Grade 2 Golden Rod at Churchill Downs.
