MEET STATS: 53 - 242 / $405.50 (-$78.50) BEST BETS: 16 - 23 / $64.30 (+$18.30) SPOT PLAYS: 2 - 23 / $23.80 (-$22.20) BEST BET - HILLOOKIN (3rd) SPOT PLAY - OPTRIX (6th) Race 1 - 20000CLM Pace (3) TIN ROOF RAIDER A kept his good form from Pocono going with a closing second-place finish a week ago and drew well again here. (4) PRETTY HANDSOME has two seconds and a win in this class in his last three tries. He does lose Jordan Stratton tonight but got a solid replacement in Scott Zeron. (6) PRINCE OF TIDES struggled at Pocono last time but was very sharp against $30,000 claimers at Yonkers before that. He gets reunited with Stratton and drops in this spot. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2 - John Brennan Trotting Series Leg #2 Trot (6) ANTOGNONI S won handily in his division of the first round of this series last week and I'll look for him to double up, even though he starts from the outside. (1) GOLDEN RAIN S has been racking up victories outside of the one dull effort at the Meadowlands on February 1 and moves in from post six to the pole position. (4) SCOTTISH prevailed at Yonkers on 3-21 and then gained ground in the event won by my top selection a week ago. Race 3 - NW of 2 but not more than 4 PM Races or 60000LT / NW1 PM Race or 15000LT Draw Inside Trot (6) HILLOOKIN romped in this class two back and returns after finishing fourth against tougher foes at the Meadowlands last time out. (4) ALEXANDER has hit the board in three of his last four outings between this level and amateur races and gets trainer Pat Lachance back at the controls here. (1) FARAH TRIO IT starts from the pole position and qualified well over at Pocono. This is her first start in the U.S. Race 4 - F&M 20000CLM Pace (3) SHEIKH YABOOTY N tallied at this level back on February 19 and has gained ground in her last two outings. She moves inside on the gate this week and gets a driver switch to Matt Kakaley. (5) DELITFULCATHERIN N owns five on-the-board results in her last six trips behind the gate and comes off a win in this class last Tuesday. She gets a chance to partner with Jason Bartlett this time. (1) FORTUNADA made an uncharacteristic break past the half on 4-1 and lost all chance. She was claimed again, starts from post one and gets reunited with Scott Zeron. Race 5 - NW of 2 but not more than 4 PM Races or 60000LT Trot (8) BRONZER starts from the eight-hole but was a dominant winner in this class on 3-26 and makes his second start with trotting hobbles on. (6) FAST APPROACH is on a lengthy streak of top-three finishes and I'll toss him in the mix underneath again tonight. (1) EUGENIO RL IT has struggled a bit with breaking issues but comes back off a super qualifier at Pocono and if he's that good again could definitely threaten. Race 6 - John Brennan Trotting Series Leg #2 Trot I'm going to give (2) OPTRIX a try this time as he won two back at Pocono and then closed with a good final quarter last week but was too far back to threaten. I think this is the most wide-open of the splits tonight and hopefully that will come to pass. (5) CANTSTOP YANKEE rebounded from a couple of poor efforts with a win in his division of this series a week ago and it's tough to overlook anything Per Engblom sends out right now. (1) BLOCKCHAIN saw his streak of victories end last Wednesday but did hit the board again. He slides inside on the gate to the pole position here. Race 7 - 15000CLM Pace (2) EL PARRANDERO Q lacks a win so far in 2025 but has hit the board in four of his last five tries, including last week in this class. He gets another chance to team up with Yannick Gingras here, too. (5) DELIGHTFUL TERROR slides inside a couple of slots on the starting gate tonight and is on an extended run of top-three results. (6) NOWHERE CREEK A cut the fractions and wound up second when he dropped down to this class last Wednesday. I'll include again. Race 8 - NW of 2 but not more than 4 PM Races or 60000LT Trot (2) OLIVER THE GREAT closed with trot in this class last Wednesday and owns a victory over NW4's at Pocono back on 3-10. He also gets some post relief tonight. (5) WALKWHILEYOURTALKN rallied for second, just a neck behind the winner, at this level a week ago. Like my top selection, he also has a better post here than he did a week ago. (6) VOSS BLUE CHIP burned some money in his last two outings at the Meadowlands, but he might be facing softer company here. He also gets a driver switch to Bartlett. Race 9 - 15000CLM Pace (5) HELLO GORGEOUS was unable to get involved from the eight-hole last Wednesday but drew better tonight. He won two back at Pocono, recently joined this stable and added Lasix. (4) SHADOW IN RED qualified fine over at Pocono on 3-28 and returns to pari-mutuel action here. He was in against tougher $20,000 claimers when last seen at Yonkers. (1) GINGER TREE PETE rallied from seventh to second in a $15,000 claiming event a week ago and slides inside on the gate from the six-hole to post one. Race 10 - John Brennan Trotting Series Leg #2 Trot (1) BUSY MAKING MONI couldn't reach a well-rated and well-meant winner from first-up last week. I think he'll be better tonight as this is his second outing back off a layoff and he starts from the pole position. (7) BELLISSIMO FACE S starts from the outside but was a solid runner-up to Antognoni S in leg one of this series and is another Bartlett/Engblom collaboration on the program. (2) CHEF ROCCO drew inside and has hit the board in three straight attempts between Yonkers and Pocono. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 11 - 15000CLM Pace (5) WAIMAC ATTACK N returns to action here after being idle since 8-10. He qualified fine behind an Open stakes horse in Desperate Man over at Pocono and picks up Bartlett's services. (3) I'M J BEE N has been in the top three in four of his last five outings and gets some post relief this time. (7) LOU ON THE BEACH starts from an outside post but comes over from the Meadowlands off a victory for a barn that's been sending out some live horses across the river. Race 12 - F&M NW of 2 but not more than 4 PM Races or 60000LT Pace (3) SHE'S EPIC got away last in her race a week ago but caught my eye with how she finished up her mile. She gets post relief tonight and has shown the ability to show speed off the gate. (5) MISS PERIGNON N was a good second to a well-meant winner last Wednesday and makes her second start for trainer Travis Alexander. (4) FLOWER SHOPS closed out 2024 in good form and returns to action here off a winning qualifier at Pocono. She gives Bartlett & Engblom another chance at finding the winner's circle.
