2025 MEET STATS: 45 - 146 / $283.80 (-$8.20) BEST BETS: 7 - 14 / $22.20 (-$5.80) BEST BET: SWEETHOMEALABAMA N (2nd) SPOT PLAY: LYONS STEEL (9th) Race 1: F&M $20,000 Claiming Pace (5) CANNERY ROW has yet to win at this claiming level but she's had some decent efforts recently to hit the board. From this midpack post she could be in line for a cover trip at a fair price. (1) LINE EM UP didn't fire from the pocket last start but was a decent second the start prior; doesn't seem to be much of a mystery where this mare will be positioned throughout the mile as the rail draw allows driver Holland to be on or right behind the lead. (8) SALE EL SOL has been sharpest of these and has does it for multiple barns. Now going to the Bongiorno barn she needs to be at her best to overcome the draw. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: 3-5YO Winners of 2-4 races or $60,000 LT Pace (2) SWEETHOMEALABAMA N gets away from a killer tonight and it should be his time to shine. (7) CUPID SHUFFLE has also been up close in the same races as the top choice but he gives up a major post edge. (3) AYR CORLEON GB was a tiring third last start but the recent import makes his second local start and picks up Bartlett; more to offer? Race 3: F&M $20,000 Claiming Pace (5) SHEIKH YABOOTY N has been a solid earner at these levels the last couple of years and we've seen her win on the front or from off the pace. Post gives Napolitano options. (3) AT THE HOP has won two of three from similar spots; logical favorite picking up Bartlett. (7) ONEDERFULBEACH has the speed but the staying power has been a problem as she keeps coming up short; maybe off the pace is a better option. Race 4: F&M $25,000 Claiming Pace (5) IRIS SEELSTER has won two of three, including last week at this same claiming level; Ruiz trainee always offers a fair price, which figures to be the case again tonight in this competitive affair. (8) LAZIN ON THE BEACH steps up a notch off the Engblom claim after hitting the board in her last three; she's left from the outside in the past, including last week out of the eight hole. (4) MORNING HAS BROKEN has been frustrating me in recent starts but she will eventually pick it up. Race 5: F&M $50,000 Claiming Pace (3) YS SENSATIONALCITY tried one race up in class after winning four straight and that didn't exactly work out so she's back at the winning level tonight; tactical edge on (4) PEMBROKE SOUTHIE, who had also been on a roll but was collared last week at odds-on. (2) AMBUSHED looks like the other logical contender in here as she's hit the board in all three since returning locally. Race 6: NW15021 in last 5 starts Pace (1) FUNATTHEBEACH N finally found the winning spot and the millionaire converted; Gillis trainee begins his journey back up the class ladder with a rail draw, which makes him a desirable option in here. (3) ALL CLASS is lightly raced but has clear talent as evidenced by her near $100K of earnings over her last 11 starts. Engblom trainee returns to Yonkers off a good tightener at Pocono where he was facing some good ones. (5) LOU'S SWEETREVENGE was a non-factor in his last two but was a winner from a similar spot three back. He's strictly an off-the-pace option but could slide into the number with a smooth trip. Race 7: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace (5) SOUTHWIND CELCIUS was in a tough spot last week but finished with pace and now the Devita trainee gets to face softer again with a moderately improved post. Bartlett drives again and I can see him being more aggressive. (3) MARLBANK ROAD is in a different boat than the top choice as he moves up in class again off two straight wins and lands another decent post. (4) BRUTALLYHANDSOME A went a huge trip from the eight hole to beat one notch lesser and that makes two consecutive sharp efforts for the Stratton trainee. Race 8: F&M $30,000 Claiming Pace (6) BEANTOWN BABE was stuck too far back in her return to the Laterza barn and charged home too late; popular mare now goes back to Stratton via reclaim and takes a logical bump up in class. Does she revert to speed tactics tonight? (2) RACEY RACH N has been razor sharp with her only blip a tiring effort at the added distance; back to familiar connections she should keep on truckin' with a big effort. (1) CELCIUS was a live second from the pocket last out and a repeat trip is likely. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 9: NW21421 in last 5 starts Pace (3) LYONS STEEL bounced back with a nice effort last week when he rallied for third after folding up the start prior in his Yonkers return. Holland drives again and has tactical options with this uber-classy veteran. (4) HEZ ALLTHE RAGE N continues to race well and has been offering good value as well; this race was opened up to squeeze him in so he gets to face similar despite the recent win. (6) CURBSIDE PICKUP was claimed for $15K towards the end of 2024 and the Bongiorno trainee is a legit player at the optional $60K level; tough post ended his winning streak last week. Race 10: F&M $20,000 Claiming Pace (1) RAISE THE ANTE stayed off the front end last week after tiring the prior two starts and the finished well to make it close. Maybe Marohn elects to sit a pocket trip here and can get lucky. (5) WHO'S PERFECT was an encouraging runner-up when dropped to this claiming level and it looks like she's found a home with these. (4) GINGER TREE LIZ essentially swept the field two back and also just missed last week; we've also seen her leave the gate in the past so maybe Yannick takes a shot off the gate.
