2024 MEET STATS: 37 - 136 / $239.60 (-$32.40) BEST BETS: 7 - 11 / $23.10 (+$1.10) BEST BET: AS ALWAYS (6th) SPOT PLAY: OZONE BLUE CHIP (7th) Race 1: $30,000 Claiming Pace (3) BIG DREAM FELLA has been close recently but only has one win over the last couple of months. 4YO qualifies as 'overdue' and finds a very live spot here. (1) PEPPERMINT MAN returns from Pocono to make his second seasonal start and steps up significantly in claiming price, but he's won at this level in the past. (5) IM A POWERPLAY A has been coming up a bit short recently when forwardly placed. He's probably off the pace here looking to rally late. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: 3-6YO $50,000 Claiming Pace (1) FULSOME is in razor-sharp form and he's been winning on the front, from the pocket and first up. From the inside draw he's the one to beat again. (2) TUFFENUFTOWEARPINK had been hinting at better efforts and finally put it all together with last week's score. Gillis trainee finds a similar spot tonight. (5) SHAKESPEARE grinded uncovered last start and was outfinished by fresher foes; gelding always deserves consideration as he's a proven winner with this type. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Yonkers card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: Stake Your Claim $40,000 Claiming Leg 3 Pace (2) AUSSIE HANOVER delivered last week right off the bench and the Garcia-Herrera trainee looks primed to take another, albeit at shorter odds. (4) KOUNT BLASTER rallied for minor shares in his first two legs of this claiming series and he now gets some post improvement; Daguet's barn has been decent since the start of the year so this one should be a player. (5) GOTHIC ROCK has speed in his arsenal but not much else to currently endorse; use caution at low morning line. Race 4: NW30000 in last 5 starts Pace (2) POINTOMYGRANSON has been razor sharp for an extended period of time and though his win streak was snapped last week it was at the hands of an equally sharp and classy rival. Post improvement can help start a new streak. (5) SONNY WEAVER N jogged at odds-on two back at this level; Bartlett now gets the drive as Brennan is on #2 and he's got a legit chance. (6) ADAM TWELVE has impossible to ignore form but this may be the toughest spot he's seen. Can Gingras get him on or near the lead? Race 5: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace (3) BLANK STARE raced with some tough luck from outside posts in his last two out of town but he returns locally into a more favorable spot and he's beaten better than these in the past. (5) ALL ALONE gets another crack at this class as he fits the NW8 condition and he goes for two straight and three of four. Bartlett/Engblom impossible to ignore. (8) NIGHT HAWK was second best his last two at this level but he needs to fire from the eight hole or else it's hopeless. Race 6: Stake Your Claim $40,000 Claiming Leg 3 Pace (2) AS ALWAYS stepped up in price last week and didn't race badly but he was in a tough spot from the outside. Tonight the Engblom trainee is back in the $40K claiming series in a similar spot where he dominated two back. (1) GINGER TREE PETE has proven in his last couple that he belongs with these; best chance is to secure position from the rail and work out a trip behind #2. (5) THRASHER was quickly reclaimed by the Alexander barn last week and he's raced well in every start this year. Race 7: Stake Your Claim $40,000 Claiming Leg 3 Pace (1) OZONE BLUE CHIP tapped into his back class last week as he took control and wired the field. From the rail draw again he's clearly capable of doubling up. (2) URIEL BLUE CHIP also comes in off a win and he's really relished his time back at Yonkers after some shaky prior efforts; also goes for two straight. (5) MOVIN ON UP was game in defeat off the Stafford claim and that's two straight starts where he's been aggressively put on the front end. Can Holland make the lead tonight? Race 8: NW20000 in last 5 starts Pace (2) LEONIDAS A and (3) FUNATTHEBEACH N lay over this field class-wise and they are both trying to work their way back to the top levels (and likely Borgata). #2 looks to have the tactical edge and really has little excuse to fail. (5) MACH N CHEESE steps up again off two solid efforts since the move back to the Forte barn. Race 9: Stake Your Claim $40,000 Claiming Leg 3 Pace (1) SETH HANOVER always knocks on the door but can't seem to get over the hump. Now in the DiDomenico barn via last week's claim he meets what seems to be a softer overall field so maybe he can take these the distance. (4) REIGNING DEO has been second best though the first two legs of this series; logical contender again. (3) WORLD FOR TWO has tired badly in his first two starts off the claim for these connections but he's back down in class and Bartlett drives again. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 10: NW30000 in last 5 starts Pace (5) SEMI TOUGH is in the midst of a major form spree and the classy Burke trainee is even showing sharp speed early in his miles; gets the call to win again. (2) COACHES CORNER has also been sharp for ages and even his losses are tough beats; no reason why he won't fire a big missile again. (1) OAKWOODNITTOENIT IR makes his 2024 debut off a winning qualifier and he's a legit Open-quality pacer when in top form. Race 11: Stake Your Claim $40,000 Claiming Leg 3 Pace (1) SAN DOMINO A is beginning to run out of excuses but from this spot Gingras should be able to control his destiny; figuring the race goes through him. (4) MICKY GEE N was claimed last week so he enters a new barn after being almost exclusively with Lance Hudson since 2018. We'll see how he responds. (3) RJ SPORTS IMAGE was also claimed out of his last race by the Alexander barn and he's very speedy off the gate.
