2023 MEET STATS: 459 - 1293 / $2,374.10 (-$211.90) BEST BETS: 67 - 122 / $218.90 (-$25.10) BEST BET: POINTOMYGRANSON (3rd) SPOT PLAY: BURNHAM BOY N (9th) Race 1: $40,000 Claiming Pace (1) TUGGIN ON MY HEART gave it all he could last week when trying to rally from the rear after getting away seventh. Tonight moving from the rail there's no excuse not to control the action and get the job done. (4) PEDRO HANOVER stopped badly last start but prior efforts were all fine so I'll assume it was just a fluke; off the pace tonight. (2) OSTRO HANOVER gave a good accounting of himself last week after being off some time. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: 3-5YO $50,000 Claiming Pace (2) KOUNT BLASTER may lack the class and/or accomplishments of others in here but he finally gets a chance from a realistic spot as he was stuck outside in his last two. Joe B picks up the drive tonight and should be tracking close up at a square price. (5) LOUS THE ATTITUDE has been okay in his two starts facing claimers and he'll be more involved with the post improvement. (1) SLING SHOCK draws the rail and is likely the default favorite here. A repeat of one of his recent starts facing conditioned foes will get it done, but with little value. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Yonkers card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace (2) POINTOMYGRANSON hasn't done much lately but he drops to a softer level and gets important post relief. Veteran can take these wire to wire. (7) IMA HAPPY FELLA GB returns to Yonkers, where he's got a couple of wins here already and has hit the board in 5 of 6. Stratton picks up the drive and we'll look for an alert getaway. (3) THINKBIG DEEAMBIG has been a disappointment since returning; maybe new driver Kakaley shakes him up a little bit. Race 4: 3YO $30,000 Claiming Pace (6) CROSS CREEK has been racing pretty well at this level and will be a much bigger price than logical choice in #2. He does seem to have a bit of early speed in a race lacking it. (2) ALL ATTITUDE raced well and was placed first last week, now draws well with Bartlett driving again. Clearly the one to beat. (3) BIG DREAM FELLA drops in for a tag in his second local start for Burke, and he knows how to classify them. Race 5: NW16901 in last 5 starts Pace (2) NANDOLO N often leaves himself with too much to do but from this spot tonight that shouldn't be the case. Tritton import gets the call. (3) ULTIMAROCA drops from the age-restricted Open to this seemingly easier spot, and draws well enough to do some damage. (7) DOWNRIGHTDELICIOUS is a lightly-raced 3YO with obvious talent; Alexander trainee has the early speed to overcome the outside post and land a good piece. Race 6: 3-5YO $50,000 Claiming Pace (6) MY MIKI BEACH jogged on the front end last week; Gingras drives again with a strong chance to repeat. (1) STONEBRIDGE REX has raced well in his last two at this level and should work out a live trip from the rail. (2) TOPVILLE SOMROCKET missed a nose two back with Bartlett driving. Race 7: $40,000 Claiming Pace (1) RJ SPORTS IMAGE was a pocket-sitting winner last week when debuting at this claiming level and he lands the rail tonight facing much of the same. He's no lock but is a deserving favorite. (2) PINEBUSH LIFESAVER has grinded gamely for board spots in his last two and overall he's wrapping up a solid season. (4) MICKY GEE N was a horse I liked last week with Bartlett getting the call but he was scratched sick. He's right back in the box so I assume he's good to go. Race 8: Open Handicap 1-4,5-6 drawn Pace (3) HEMSWORTH N put it all together last out and dominated in 1:51 3/5. He has missed three weeks but a repeat performance makes him a player here at the Open level. (5) HELLABALOU goes for three straight Open Handicap wins. (6) COVERED BRIDGE is closing in on $500K for the year...amazing! Obviously landing outside makes the journey difficult. Race 9: NW30000 in last 5 starts Pace (3) BURNHAM BOY N gets needed class relief as he drops from the Open level and he also switches to Kakaley in the bike. Import should have a legit chance. (1) ROCKIN JUKEBOX could not last on the front end last out but overall his body of work has been super; must-use from the rail. (4) FAMILY RECIPE shows up for work every weeks and always makes money. He does have some versatility and Yannick could be firing if #'s 2 and 3 don't push. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 10: 3YO $30,000 Claiming Pace (2) FULL SUPPORT bottomed out the field in his local debut for Burke and though the final quarter wasn't all that much it didn't really matter; he's in a similar spot looking to repeat. (1) SHUFFLE UP HANOVER has been solid in all recent, including his last two for his current connections where he was second best to #2; big chance. (4) WE SHALL SEA goes from Cory to Jordan Stratton tonight and prior to last week's break he's been right there in every start. Race 11: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace (4) PURPLE POET comes back to Yonkers after an extended stint up at Monti and he's got a 1:53 1/5 tally here this season. Big upgrade to the catch-driving Jordan Stratton. (3) LOUIE THE HORSE N also returns locally and though he's winless this year at Yonkers he's got three runner-up finishes. (2) PAT STANLEY N has all the class in the world but he's impossible to trust; let me see him win one first.
