MONDAY, NOVEMBER 27, 2023 2023 MEET STATS: 459 - 1293 / $2,374.10 (-$211.90) BEST BETS: 67 - 122 / $218.90 (-$25.10) BEST BET: PRETTY HANDSOME (5th) SPOT PLAY: MICKY GEE N (6th) Race 1: 3-5YO $50,000 Claiming Pace (3) DP REALORDEAL tries age-restricted claimers tonight after a series of decent efforts over the last month or so. Lance Hudson trainee has a nice move in him that if timed well can propel him to the winner's circle. (6) MY MIKI BEACH picked up Gingras last week and scored out of the pocket. He drives again and though he now moves outside he's got proven early speed to help the cause. (2) STRIKING IMPACT has had poor outside posts in all recent races except one, and that was a winning effort out of the two hole. Very logical. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: $30,000 Claiming Pace (3) HURRIKANEKINGJAMES is back in the Adamczyk barn off the reclaim and he went well for these connections in one start back in September. Gelding returns from a maintenance qualifier at Monti and should be good to go. (4) REAL PEACE takes an important drop in class for top connections. (2) KB MAC has picked up a check in all recent local starts and only has to beat a couple to hit the ticket. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Yonkers card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace 3YO (4) COACHES CORNER has been a winning machine, including five straight since joining the Engblom barn. He gets Bongiorno catch driving with Bartlett on #5 and he'll be heading to the front. (7) THIS IS THE PLAN draws another poor post and though he hasn't won in a while it's hard not to root for him. Tonight I bailed off so he'll probably win. (5) NANDOLO N grinded his way to victory last week at The Meadowlands with Lauren Tritton driving and he's capable at any given time but the lack of early speed sometimes puts him in tough spots. Race 4: 3YO $30,000 Claiming Pace (3) CROSS CREEK was a distant second last week to a short-priced blowout winner and he's got some tactical speed to hold position when drawn inside. 3YO meets a very soft and inconsistent field here and I hope for him to get first call off the gate and at the wire. (1) WE SHALL SEA is clearly the most formful in here for owner/trainer/driver Cory Stratton. (6) ALL ATTITUDE was awful in his last start then scratched sick but at least he has Bartlett back driving. Race 5: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace (1) PRETTY HANDSOME probably faces the softest field he's seen all year and should have little problem disposing of these. (3) LONG WEEKEND A lost touch with the winner last week but that was a fast mile and he should be close to the front again. (4) KERFORD ROAD A finished third here two back at the NW7500 level; board chance again. Race 6: $40,000 Claiming Pace (5) MICKY GEE N is back in for a tag tonight and the certified closer gets Bartlett in the bike tonight. I have a feeling that shakes this guy up a bit and he's going to go a big mile. (2) SAILBOAT HANOVER appears ready to go off that qualifier after missing a bit of time. He was a good second at the 50K level in his last pari-mutuel race. (4) OSTRO HANOVER has plenty of back class; consider for a share. Race 7: 3YO $30,000 Claiming Pace (3) SHUFFLE UP HANOVER was a solid winner first out for these connections and they drop him back in at the same winning level; 3YO is clearly capable of taking another. (2) FULL SUPPORT blew away the field at Philly last week in his third start since the move to the Burke barn and though time-wise it was not all that impressive I'll assume he can build off that effort. (4) BEN SOLO is lightly raced but clearly has talent. Race 8: NW30000 in last 5 starts Pace (2) LOU'S SWEETREVENGE was a winner versus similar two back and last week he was a willing third at Philly in a race dominated by a classy stakes-placed performer. He faces some good rivals here but there's lots to like about the Adamczyk trainee. (3) CERTIFIABLE was outfinished last start out but all prior efforts have been solid; Engblom trainee is likely the one to catch. (5) PEACE OUT POSSE didn't get involved last start but prior efforts were good and Joe B is back driving for his sister. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 9: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace (4) SMOKIN BY N has been dull recently in lower-conditioned levels at The Meadows but he makes his way back to Yonkers and back to the Alexander barn, where he's had plenty of success in the past. Interesting to see if he comes down off that 10/1 morning line. (3) QUALITY BUD has hit a dry patch recently but we know he's capable of so much better. (1) MAXIMUS RED A moves from the eight hole all the way to the rail and picks up Gingras; definitely one to consider. Race 10: $40,000 Claiming Pace (7) TUGGIN ON MY HEART had been a reliable performer at the age-restricted $50K claiming level so this drop in price figures to help a little bit; Bongiorno trainee has the early speed to get into play and I hope for an aggressive effort. (4) RJ SPORTS IMAGE is nowhere near as reliable as he was when he first arrived for these connections but he still remains a major speed player. (2) SETH HANOVER took all the money last week and jogged. Stays at same level but faces a tougher field.
