2024 MEET STATS: 9 - 23 / $56.30 (+$10.30) BEST BETS: 1 - 2 / $5.50 (+$1.50) BEST BET: BRUTALLYHANDSOME A (9th) SPOT PLAY: ITTY BITTY (3rd) Race 1: F&M NW5428 in last 5 starts Pace (2) MILLWOOD BONNIE N hits the bottom conditioned level after a long dry spell but this classy mare didn't win 10 races and $159K last year by mistake. Nowhere to go but up. (3) ON THE MONEY GB comes back to Yonkers trying to find the right classification. Yannick picking up the drive helps. (1) MONEYMAKEHERSMILE comes in from the Meadowlands and gets Bartlett in the bike. From the rail she looks like a serious player. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: NW15000 in last 5 starts Trot (1) BLACK TIE BASH did not fire last start for Lachance but that Big M try does give him a recency edge on the rest of them; let's look for an aggressive steer from Lachance. (4) HIGHLAND MOWGLI is back locally and the Burke trotter reunites with Brennan; expect early speed. (5) BRAVE BY DESIGN just missed in his 2023 finale; trotter from the always dangerous Bongiorno barn deserves consideration. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Yonkers card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: F&M NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace (3) ITTY BITTY has been off since December 12 but she's loaded with back class and lands an improved post. Daguet barn has looked good so far this year. (1) LAURIE LEE has the benefit of a clean race last week and is the deserving favorite here. (2) CASH ROLL has a good local history as the Schnittker trainee has five local wins over the last couple seasons and he looks two be a player from the inside post. Race 4: F&M NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace (4) PROBERT returns to Yonkers at what appears to be a bit softer competition. She should offer a fair price in a competitive race that likely will come down to best trip. (2) MORNING HAS BROKEN is a returning Bako trainee and they mostly looked good the other night. She goes for two straight. (3) DELTA THREE N makes her U.S. debut off a nice winning qualifier at The Big M with Bartlett in the bike. Race 5: NW5000 in last 5 starts Trot (5) TIMESTORM has faced (and beaten) better than these multiple times in the past; Harris trainee finished willingly last out at The Big M with Stratton driving. (1) SWISS HOUSE ONFIRE also returns locally and drops to the bottom. Bucci trainees have done well with most of them staying fresh over the break and this one has plenty of early speed and lands the rail. (8) DRACO S was locked in the pocket last week across the river after firing to the front; outside post again and Bartlett won't be getting away last. Race 6: F&M NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace (4) OKINAWA BEACH A can close a ton with the right setup. Bako trainee can be close enough from this spot. (1) HEAVENS SHOWGIRL A had posts 8, 8, 6, 6, 6, 7 in her last six Yonkers races. Now she's got the rail. (5) I LOVE ONGAIT faces better than she's accustomed to but she's been pretty sharp. Race 7: F&M NW22751 in last 5 starts Pace (4) BOORAA N outraced her odds in a Yonkers start last December and picked up a win on the big track two starts after; speedy import lands in a live start and the Cushing connections had a starter race well the other night. (2) VILLAGE JADE should fit well here and Yannick drives. (5) MAN DONTFORGET ME starts up her 7YO campaign and check out those stats from a year ago: 41 starts, 8 wins, $227K banked. Mare is versatile. Race 8: NW10000 in last 5 starts Trot (1) ROSIE'S WAR BONDS is fresh stock from Canada entering the Engblom barn for co-owner Gingras. He's had some quality efforts over the half up at Flamboro and maybe he'll be ready at first asking. (3) VALI HANOVER gets class and post relief plus a driver switch to Bartlett. (4) BARRY BLACK was one of the few Bucci trainees who did not race elsewhere over the holiday break. Maybe some rest did this oldtimer some good. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 9: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace (8) BRUTALLYHANDSOME A fits this bottom class despite the dead-heat win last week at The Big M and he meets a field with little to no form. Only problem is the eight hole. (4) CAVIART ROCKLAND is the rare Engblom trainee that hasn't been functioning; still tough to ignore. (2) FOX VALLEY PATRIOT was facing better when last seen here. Race 10: NW7500 in last 5 starts Trot (2) FULL RIGHTS stayed fresh with a few Med starts and the Schnittker trainee has speed and is always well-mannered. Hoping for a late kick to score at a decent price. (3) THE LAST CHAPTER remembered who he was with that last start where he blew away the field. That was over five weeks ago, but he does have plenty of class so maybe isn't too much of a concern. (7) BARABOBBITT S is inconsistent but the Bongiorno import has some talent.
