SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Dual-surface Grade 1 winner World of Trouble is still hampered by a foot injury that will force him to miss the Turf Monster Stakes at Parx next week and puts his status for the Breeders’ Cup in question. “We’re not going to make the Turf Monster and we’ll be pressed to make the Breeders’ Cup,” trainer Jason Servis said. World of Trouble, who won the Grade 1 Carter on dirt in April and the Grade 1 Jaipur on turf in June, had what is known as a seedy toe, where there is a separation of the outer wall from the sole of a horse’s hoof, according to Servis. The horse was sent to the Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in Saratoga “mostly for precaution,” Servis said, though he was due to be released soon. Servis didn’t totally discount running in the Breeders’ Cup, noting that the Nov. 2 Turf Sprint is run at five furlongs this year at Santa Anita. “I got two months. If I can get a couple of good open gallops in him, who knows?” he said. World of Trouble has won seven of his last eight starts, with his only loss coming by a neck to Stormy Liberal in last year’s Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint at Churchill Downs.
