The entry box for the 40th Pepsi North America Cup closed Tuesday morning with 33 3-year-old pacers entered, the highest number since 2009. For the first time since 2009, a total of four elimination races will be needed to determine the field for the Pepsi North America Cup final. The four $50,000 eliminations will take place this Saturday at Woodbine Mohawk Park. The top two finishers from each elimination, plus two third-place finishers drawn by lot, will advance to the C$1 million final on Saturday, June 17. The draw for Saturday’s eliminations will be released later this afternoon.
