Top Pick Stats: 373 - 1102 / $2,067.50 (-$136.50) Best Bets: 56 - 104 / $181.00 (-$27.00) Spot Plays: 25 - 101 / $231.90 (+$29.90) Best Bet: SCINTILLATING TOM (5TH) Spot Play: PREMIER FIRST STAR (8TH) Early Pick 5: 2,5,6/3,6/4,5,7/2,9/6,8 = $14.40 Late Pick 5: 6,7,8/6,8,9/2,7/1,6/7,8 = $14.40 Early Pick 4: 2,9/6,8/6,7,8/6,8,9 = $7.20 Late Pick 4: 6,8,9/2,7/1,6/7,8 = $24 Race 1: 5YO and younger winners of 2 (F&M3) but not more than 4 (F&M5) or $45,000 LT **Gtd. $100,000 Pick 5** (5) CHAIN GANG didn’t do much in his two pari-mutuel starts this year, but he did beat his lifetime mark in his qualifier on 7/2, finished off with a 25 4/5 kicker. He fits well here, and I’ll give him the nod. (2) UNRIVALED HANOVER held off a very good colt while winning last week and he is a contender right back vs. these; using. (6) WIKIPEDIA turned the corner on June 10th, and he is razor sharp right now. He is another that could do in this opening leg of the Pick 5. (4) BETTOR B SIRIUS should improve here noy having to face hot Leave It To Leo. He can be part of the exotics. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: 5YO and younger NW2 or $30,000 LT (3) THE VICAR never ever got into top gear when he just bided his time before sailing past the leader at 1 to 20 odds at Georgian on 7/2. His effort here two starts back shows that he fits and although he will likely need a new life’s mark tonight, I think he is up to it. (6) LAKERS BANK is the obvious one to beat coming off a strong effort where he led, took a shuffle then re-rallied. (7) MCWICKED TIME flashed home in 26 1/5 last time. A similar effort can get him a share tonight. (5) LOGAN BEHOLD will likely sit another trip racing near the front and stay for a share. Race 3: F&M NW $16,250 L5 (4) HUNTRESS changed tactics last week and she produced a 53 3/5 back 1/2 highlighted by a 26-flat kicker. I think she races more aggressively here and gets the job done. (7) SHOOT THE WHISKEY got aggressive in that race and she finished 3rd behind the choice. She should be the main threat here. (5) CHIEFS DREAM GIRL should rally for a good share in this short field, and she could win if everything falls her way; using. (2) GLENBORO is capable of better than she has been showing recently. I think she sits a trip racing close to the front and stays for a share. Race 4: Horses that have started for a purse of $15,000 or less in 1 of L4 - Pick 4 (9) CODE CRACKER jogged last time he dropped to this level, and he is the one to beat here. (2) JACK PANIC qualifies for this class on the basis of last week’s drop and pop. He was terrific taking a new life’s mark, gamely digging in to fend off stretch challenges from both sides. He should be a threat right back. (1) ROLL WITH THE FLOW just missed when he couldn’t get by Jack Panic. He should be good for another share in this spot. (8) RON frequently gets over bet which creates value if you play to beat him. He will probably close late for another slice tonight. Race 5: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GOLD MID-SEASON CONSOLATION: 3 YEAR OLD TROTTING COLTS & GELDINGS (8) SCINTILLATING TOM just jogged, and he took a new life’s mark, and he should be tough racing on the engine in this consolation. (6) MASSTERCRAFT fits well here, and he shows a decent qualifier coming in. He could score an upset here if he lands in the choice’s pocket leaving the gate; using. (5) SALEM SEELSTER closed well for a share in his last start, and he can get a slice here with a similar effort. (2) GOOBER SMACK is another that will be in the exotics mix if he stays flat tonight. Race 6: NW $24,750 L5 AE: 4YO NW1 in 2024 - Pick 5 Good betting race here and I wonder if (6) CODENAME CIGAR BOX will get a little lost on the tote board stepping up in class. If he replicates last week’s mile, he will have a good shot. (8) STOCKADE SEELSTER has the class and speed to beat these in his four-year-old debut, the question is, does he need a race or two? Let price be your guide here. (7) EMMETTS BUDDY should get a solid pace to chase, and he is another in with a shot here. (2) WHEELS ON FIRE drops off a couple of poor efforts. I’ll use him underneath here. Race 7: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GOLD MID-SEASON SEMI FINAL: 3 YEAR OLD TROTTING COLTS & GELDINGS - Pick 4 (8) NORTHERN LOOKER, a winner of 3 of 5 this year, comes in off a Gold win and I don’t mind the wide post for him in this spot. I think he lands in the top five leaving then chases them down. (6) WAYS N MEANS should work out a good trip racing on or near the front starting from the best post. She would be no surprise in this spot. (9) MYRETIREMENTDREAM has been right there in both Gold starts and his is obviously faster at three. He’s hard to leave out in this field. (1) WHAT ABOUT ELMO should pass a few of these late and take another slice. Race 8: 5YO and younger NW2 or $30,000 LT (7) PREMIER FIRST STAR was first up in a race that featured a 26 4/5 kicker and he held his ground in that fast final 1/4. He is sharp and he can do in here if he gets a better trip, (2) WATCHING SUNSET has caught fire recently and he never gets bet much. He shoots for the threepeat here, and he will be on my late multi-race tickets. (5) BEST NIGHT EVER lacked room in the lane last week, but I’m not sure he would have finished higher than third with clear sailing. I could see him getting over bet here. I’ll use him underneath. (1) BET THE BB got a poor start last week and he closed mildly. He can be closer here if he beats a few of these off the gate. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 9: PREFERRED (1) WHICHWAYTOTHEBEACH just took a new life’s mark beating three of tonight’s five rivals and he is the one to beat as he will likely look to control the pace again and notch the threepeat. (6) WRITE ME A ROSE gets to start outside the choice tonight and I could see McNair blasting to the front then riding the choice’s pocket to the lane. He is sharp and dangerous. (5) P L OZZY is razor sharp right now but he faces tougher; smaller share predicted. (4) BLUE HUNT should get a better trip tonight and land in the bottom of the exotics. Race 10: NW $14,900 L5 or $24,750 L10 AE: OPT CLM $70,000 or NW $100,000 LT (8) DREAMFAIR ARNIE B jogged last time he raced at this level, and he gets aggressive teamster Drury tonight. A down the road win is very possible. (7) LIVINTHEBEACHLIFE is sharp, and he could upend the choice if he gets a better trip than he did last week. My gut tells me that Henry will blast looking for the pocket; using. (3) THE GREEK FREAK is sharp, but he has only one win in 22 starts this year. A smaller share is likely for him in this spot. (6) RESPECT OUR FLAG often finishes on the edges. I think he closes for a small slice tonight. (10) SOMETIME SOMEWHERE has a big late kick but he will probably be trying to pass them all starting from out there. He will probably be a fringe player.
