He moves up in class here but is sharp enough to put forth yet another strong effort. (7) HUNGRY MAN wasn’t much of a factor in his latest. He was last turning for home and finished up evenly, but can pick up a bigger share if he is handled aggressively here. (6) HP LIS SHADOW was aggressively handled but could not keep up to a cozy two-hole trip in his latest. He draws well and will definitely be summoned off the card in this spot. (4) RESPECT OUR FLAG ships in from Flamboro off a pair of strong wins. He should have every opportunity to triple up vs. this group and I’ll give him top honors here. (3) ALL BETS ON TEX was aggressively handled in his latest and finished 3rd despite a first-over bid. He draws inside this evening and should be able to work out a favorable trip because of it. (1) KOLBY TWO STEP was a dominant winner in his latest. He draws the rail tonight and should have every opportunity to double up.  (5) STONE CARVER failed to hit the board in his latest but draws well here today. He can hit the ticket. He has been racing well since he started racing in Ontario and should benefit from having some speed to chase in this spot. He gets the nod from James MacDonald, who had his choice of another main contender in this contest. (4) ODDS ON CAPITALISM was a strong winner after making a few moves in the process. He has rattled off three consecutive wins and is the one to beat here this evening. (6) TAURASI was 3rd in his latest in what was his 2nd start of 2025. He should be getting tighter with each and every start and will have a chance to get the best of this group if he’s at his best. (3) POSEIDON SEELSTER is coming off a win in his latest but is back racing at the Preferred level. He has hit the ticket in his previous five tries at this level and can grab a big piece. Race 4: NW $5,400 LAST 5 STARTS (W/O $24,000 LAST 10 STARTS N/E). (6) MOMMA SON BYRNE is coming off a solid qualifying effort where he finished 3rd, pacing a strong final quarter in the process, where he was tight on a rival’s helmet. He picks up Jody Jamieson this evening and looks poised for a good effort vs. this group this evening.  (3) BROOKDALE JOHNNY never had a chance in his latest off what was a troubled trip. He finished well late in the mile to grab the show spot and can grab a big piece with a favorable trip here.  (4) LEGION SEELSTER is coming off a 3rd place effort in his latest and was no match for a dominant winner. He draws well here and will be one of the main contenders this evening. (7) STONEBRIDGE HELIOS didn’t look all that great in his qualifying prep gearing up for his 2025 debut. He has the ability to put forth a good effort, but I’d like to see a start first. Race 5: FILLIES & MARES, NW $17,000 LAST 5 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $70,000. AE: NW $100,000 LIFETIME. (2) CODENAME CIGAR BOX plunges in class after taking on much tougher company. He will be the race favorite here and will be the one to take down in a much softer spot.  (1) SARGEANT SLAUGHTER was claimed out of his most recent try and will now race for new trainer, Gary Merner. He picks up the services of James MacDonald, who had his choice of a few in here. (4) SERIOUSLY HANOVER came first up and was able to stick around for a 3rd place finish. He draws well but will likely need a few things to go his way in order to get the job done. (3) HIGHLANDBEACHLOVER is coming off back to wins. He’s stepping up in class but is racing well enough to grab a share. Race 6: 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER NW $17,000 LIFETIME. AE: OS 4 YEAR OLDS N/A $995 P/S IN 2024-2025. (2) ROLLEX was aggressively handled in start number two, and scored a hard-earned victory. He retains JR Plante, who guided him to a 3rd place finish in his lifetime debut, and is one I’ll give the nod to in terms of doubling-up. (8) MOVIN ON OVER rallied nicely in the lane in his 2nd career start to score from off the pace. He will be a threat if he’s close turning for home. (5) BLAZING CRUISER  is coming off a winning qualifier in preparation for his 5th start of 2025. He drifted out a bit in that morning prep but came on again to score by 3/4 of a length. He draws well and has the luxury of having a pair of wins this year but is one I’ll slot in for a share this evening. (1) GYPSY JOE failed to hit the board in his latest but should have every opportunity to close for a share in this group this evening. Race 7:  NW $25,000 IN 2024-25 (MIN 10 STARTS) OR NOT AVERAGING $1,560 PER START IN 2024-25 (MIN 10 STARTS). (6) WIND BLOWN hasn’t hit the board in two straight tries. He hasn’t been racing well but shows up here on Lasix, and that’s enough for me to believe he could put forth a much improved effort this evening. (1) ARMOR SEELSTER has rounded out the super in his last two tries. This is a group that should be more to his liking and will be given every chance. (4) VINO LOUIE rallied nicely to be 4th last time out. He can build off that effort and picks up the services of Jody Jamieson, who should be able to work out a nice trip. (7) GENTLEONMYMIND has hit the board in 3 of his last 6 tries and is one who can hit the ticket here this evening. Race 8: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 RACES OR $38,500 LIFETIME. (8) BEN LOOKIN floated away 6th off the gate in his latest and ended up closing to be 4th. It took him some time to kick it into gear during the stretch drive but began pacing very well. He was a winner at this level two starts back and will have every chance. (5) STIRRUP LANE faltered to be 3rd in his latest after being aggressively handled at this level. He might be better suited chasing horses and can show up with a bounce-back effort. (6) MOOD CONTROL rallied nicely in the lane to deliver in his latest. He’s shown improvement since adding Lasix two starts back and is one of the contenders this evening. (4) TRINIDAD was aggressively handled and just got picked off by the one above. It was a strong effort and he should be given every opportunity to land on the ticket once again. (3) BRUE HANOVER has been a dominant winner in the first two legs of this New Holland Series and he will be tough to go against here in the final. (2) EMMETTS BUDDY was 2nd in his latest to the one above. He draws better and will be a nice pairing if you’re looking to play a cold exacta. (1) AMERICAN HISTORY never quite looked comfortable in his latest effort. He was aggressively handled to the lead and faded to 8th. He is better than what he showed and is a threat at his best. (5) POWERTRAIN finished 3rd in his latest and will have every opportunity to grab a share. Race 10:  5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 3 RACES OR $68,750 (OS $86,000) LIFETIME. AE: OS 4 YEAR OLDS N/A $1,650 P/S IN 2024-2025. (10) REGIL BUBB has been no worse than 3rd over his last 6 tries, with three of those efforts resulting in wins. He angled out late in the stretch and was flying home in his latest. He draws pp10 and I’m hoping that inflates his price here this evening. (8) SOUTHWIND INFUSION raced tough in defeat in his latest after getting picked off by a rival who slipped up the inside. He draws outside and will need a trip but should be able to be right there. (4) OVERTHINKING was stuck along the inside in his latest but paced home evenly vs. a tougher group. He should appreciate the company he keeps this evening and draws well tonight; contender. (9) SMOKIN HOT DUDE has won 3 of his last 4 and should have every chance at hitting the ticket despite an outside draw. (3) JMR SPEAKAWAY finished 6th in his latest and is one that should have every opportunity to land on the ticket.
