Top Pick Stats: 62/210 = -$69.40 Best Bets: 6/21 = –$16.70; Spot Plays: 3/21 = $-16.90 Best Bet: WHICHWAYTOTHEBEACH (RACE 9) Spot Play: WANNABEABIGSTAR (RACE 1) Early Pick 5: 4/4,5,6/1,4,8/1,2,6,10/5 = $7.20 Late Pick 5: 6,7,8/3/1,8,9/6/1,3,5,8 = $7.20 Race 1: WINNERS OF 3 BUT NOT MORE THAN 5 RACES OR $80,000 (OS $135,000) LIFETIME. (4) WANNABEABIGSTAR was moving very well in the late stages of the mile last week but had too much to overcome after getting away at the back of the pack from an outside post. He draws much better this evening and I’ll give him the role to play the role of upsetter over (9) JK TOGETHER AGAIN, who has rallied off three consecutive wins since joining the Meg Crone barn and will be the one to beat once again. (7) THE VICAR took his shot at the one above but fell short. That was a great effort in his first start of 2025 and he merits respect here with the right trip. (5) TROSA A grabbed a share in his latest vs. this group and he’ll have every opportunity to do just that once again. Race 2:  NW $15,500 LAST 5 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $70,000. AE: NW $150,000 LIFETIME. (4) CENTURY HEINEKEN was a non factor in his latest from an outside draw, in vs. tougher company. He draws much better this evening, takes a dip in class and should appreciate the company he keeps this evening. (6) SERIOUSLY HANOVER gapped the gate a couple of lengths and got away poorly from pp10. He rallied well in the late stages of the mile to be a strong 4th, and can take another step forward here in his second start for new trainer, Duane Marfisi. (5) SOUTHSIDE EDDY was aggressively handled in his latest and was locked in behind the eventual winner after he kept the inside lane shut. He had no room and ended up being 7th. He draws well and will likely be aggressively handled here. (7) MELANION N exits the New Holland Series vs tougher company after failing to hit the board. He finds himself in a more manageable spot but will need a trip to be in contention; I’ll slot him in for a share. Race 3: POP UP SERIES CONSOLATION: HORSES & GELDINGS NW $30,000 IN 2024 (MIN 15 STARTS). (1) DRINKIN BUDDY was 3rd in his latest in a very quick mile. He should be even tighter off that effort and will be a major player in this Pop Up consolation. (4) VINO LOUIE finished just behind the one above in that big mile and was moving well late. He should find this group more to his liking and is a major player. (8) PIPEWRENCH CHARLIE followed the eventual winner in his latest, working out a perfect, second-over trip. He was able to secure the show spot and is capable of grabbing a piece. (7) ONTOP RAINMAN was 3rd in his most recent and is capable of hitting the board yet again. Race 4: NW $8,750 LAST 5 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $50,000. AE: N/A $2,240 P/S IN 2024-2025. (10) ALL BETS ON TEX was stuck in between rivals and found a bit of a seam just before the wire. He had some pace when he shot through, but the best he could come up with was a 2nd-place effort. He draws outside but has early enough speed to overcome it; I’ll give him a whirl for value. (2) SARGEANT SLAUGHTER was stuck 3rd along the cones and then angled out late to grab the show spot. He’s been racing well and should have every opportunity vs. this group tonight. (1) TYGA HANOVER is coming off back-to-back wins and was a gate-to-wire winner in his latest at this level. He will start from the pole position and will look to push out for early positioning. (6) CODE CRACKER has hit the board in five straight tries and draws well here. He should be in the mix, too. Race 5: POP UP SERIES FINAL: HORSES & GELDINGS NW $30,000 IN 2024 (MIN 15 STARTS). (5) HIGHLANDBEACHLOVER is coming off a huge mile and is coming into this final as the one to beat off that effort. He draws well and will likely deploy similar tactics and will be the one to chase down. (8) HESINCONTROL impressed in his first start for new trainer, Jodie Cullen, but was no match for the choice in the second leg of this Pop Up. He’s capable of a good effort but I’ll slot him in for a good piece this evening. (2) HURRIKANE CHEYENNE did it the hard way last week, scoring off a first-over effort. He is sharp but will have to find more to beat the two above. (3) ARMOR SEELSTER had some late pace behind rivals after angling off the cones late. He is a value player to use in exotics. Race 6: NW $4,000 LAST 5 OR NW $11,500 LAST 10 STARTS. (8) KOLBY TWO STEP was aggressively handled last week and tired to finish 4th. He might have better success with a change in tactics this evening and I’ll put him on top hoping for an off the pace approach; top call. (6) LARCENY shot up the inside to be a narrow 3rd. He bounced back after a lackluster effort two starts back and can take another step forward here. (4) FOREFATHER rallied nicely to grab the show spot in his latest and he can pick up a piece late in the mile here with the right setup. (7) LEGION SEELSTER angled out vs the choice off a pocket trip and had nothing to offer. He is winless in eight tries this year but can hit the ticket. Race 7:  NEW HOLLAND PACING SERIES: NW $150,000 (FM $175,000) IN 2024. NO ALLOWANCES. LEG 2. (3) BRUE HANOVER was a dominant winner in the first leg of this New Holland Series, in what was his first start for new trainer Dave Menary. He looks tough to beat off that score and will be a single for me in multis. (4) AMERICAN HISTORY got away closer last week and was able to convert off a pocket trip. He should have speed to chase from the one above and he’ll have to give the choice his best shot. (8) JACK PANIC was a really good 2nd to the one above and is handy enough to be able to sit a good trip and stick around for a good piece. (9) EMMETTS BUDDY was moving really well in the late stages of the mile in what was his first start of 2025. He’s post compromised this evening but he capable of grabbing a share. Race 8: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 3 RACES OR $60,250 (OS $84,750) LIFETIME. (9) REGIL BUBB was an easy, first-over winner in his latest and I’ll give him the nod to repeat despite pp9 this evening. (1) SOUTHWIND INFUSION was making a first-over bid before putting in steps around the turn. He is dangerous when he gets his trip and should have plenty of speed to stalk here; beware. (8) WATCHING SUNSET was aggressively handled and went on a speed mission and tired. He carved out some quick panels and had a license to tire. He could grab a bigger piece with an easier trip. (4) ARTSALIVE has hit the board over his last two and draws well enough to grab another piece. Race 9: NW $25,000 LAST 5 STARTS. AE: NW $35,000 IN 2025. (6) WHICHWAYTOTHEBEACH was aggressively handled in his latest try, making multiple moves in a 3rd place effort. He draws the far outside in a short group of six but I'll give him the nod here. (2) TAURASI failed to hit the board in his first start of 2025. He likely needed that effort and can bounce back with a much better effort having a start under his belt. (5) POSEIDON SEELSTER was one that I liked last week after a troubled trip two starts back. He didn’t have much to offer and is tough to love off that effort. (4) REDWOOD HANOVER has hit the board in 3 of his last 4 and will have every opportunity to grab another piece here. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 10: POP UP SERIES CONSOLATION: HORSES & GELDINGS NW $30,000 IN 2024 (MIN 15 STARTS). (5) GRAVITATIONAL finished up evenly in his latest. He draws much better and should be able to work out a favorable trip. (1) BROOKDALE JOHNNY didn’t have much of a chance in his latest and finished evenly in the mile as well. This consolation should be more to his liking and is a main contender. (3) BEYOND BETTER wasn’t a factor in his latest and was in a race that produced a 1:50 effort. He should find this group more to his liking and will be a threat if he’s close, turning for home. (8) MAJOR HILL has failed to hit the board over his last five tries but will now race for new trainer, Corey Giles. Let’s see. Race 11: FILLIES & MARES, 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 3 RACES OR $77,750 LIFETIME. (1) BETTORSEETHESHOW was aggressively handled and got picked off right at the wire by a sharp rival. He draws the rail and might be better suited with a stalking trip; top call. (7) STIRRUP LANE is a perfect 2-2 to start his career and picked off the one above. He’ll be the one to beat and merits respect. (5) GYPSY JOE had too much work to do after getting away towards the back of the pack in his latest. He draws the middle of the gate and I’m intrigued to see what kind of trip he can work out this evening. (4) MOOD CONTROL was 3rd in his latest and is capable of grabbing a good piece. (10) PURELY WICKED finished a strong 2nd in his latest but is post-compromised this evening. He can land somewhere on the hi-5 ticket.
