Top Pick Stats: 16 - 53 / $80.20 (-$25.30) Best Bets: 3 - 5 / $8.50 (-$1.50) Spot Plays: 0 - 5 / $0.00 (-$10.00) Best Bet: BRADY HANOVER (4TH) Spot Play: I AMA ROCKET (5TH) Early Pick 5: 3,7/2,4,7/4,5/4/2,3,7 = $7.20 Late Pick 5: 2,4/3,9/4/1,4,7/6,9 = $4.80 Early Pick 4: 4/2,3,7/2,4/3,9 = $2.40 Late Pick 4: 4/1,4,7/6,9/3,4,7 = $3.60 Race 1: 5YO and younger NW2 or $30,000 LT AE: 4YO NW $3,850 L5 **Gtd. $100,000 Pick 5** (3) BETTORHOLDONTIGHT raced well first up against a horse that raced out of his skin to take a new life’s mark on a cold winter night. He gets top billing here over (7) BETS SHOW OFF, who got a better trip and finished slightly ahead of him that night. I’ll use both in the Pick 5. (10) SHREDDAR looked vulnerable two starts back and last week he sat back early and had no chance of catching a leader that crawled to the 3/4. A small share is likely for him tonight. (1) GENTLEONMYMIND had a mishap last week and he can take a share if all goes well this time.  [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: 6YO and younger claiming $50,000 (2) MASKEDMAN jumped up in class off the Moreau claim and doubled up under expert Macdonald handling. This feels like a spot where a similar drive and trip can get him another win. (4) PALLADIUM HANOVER fired a big kicker, but he was too far back. He can threaten here if he gets a more aggressive steer. (7) WOODMERE FENN was a strong 2nd to the choice, and he has been sharp for several weeks. He is another in here with a chance if the pace is solid. (6) ACAPULCO SUNBURN is in the mix every week. He should be part of the Tri or Super again. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Mohawk Park card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: Horses that have started for a purse of $15,000 or less in 1 of L3 (4) HAIL CHRISTIAN N was given a perfect steer that produced a perfect trip to knock off (5) REACTOR NOW A last week and this race looks like it will shape up the same way. I’ll use both in the Pick 5, though. (2) LETS TIE ONE ON fits better at this level and I can see him landing in the Tri. (3) LOVEMYROCKINBIRD, 3rd to the top two last week, is in the exotics mix again. Race 4: 4YO and younger NW $15,000 LT - Pick 4 (4) BRADY HANOVER won easier than it looks on paper last week as Jamieson never moved a muscle in the stretch. He gets the nod to repeat off that impressive win. (1) NOVA SCOTIA STRONG won six times last year and he appears to fit decently here; price look for the Exacta. (5) STRAPPER HANOVER is in easier tonight, but he has missed close to two months. I’ll play to beat him out of the Exacta. (2) KYLES ART should be good for a small slice in this spot. Race 5: NW $8,000 L5 or $20,150 L10 AE: OPT CLM $50,000 or NW6 LT (3) I AMA ROCKET has won the three times he has raced off the Barrington claim, and he gets the call to do it a fourth time tonight. (7) MAMBA drops several levels, and he is a logical contender vs. these; using. (2) NAUTICAL HANOVER raced better last time but he has now missed three weeks. Your call; I’d demand a price. (10) HUNGRY MAN fits well vs. these, but from the widest post, a small share is likely his ceiling here. Race 6: 5YO and younger NW2 or $30,000 LT AE: 4YO NW $3,850 L5 - Pick 5 (2) NIGHTIME DANCER had no shot last week the way the race played out but that start should serve as a good tightener and he can get the job done vs. these. (4) SERGEANT SLAUGHTER is the obvious one to fear moving into the Cullen barn coming off a good effort when 2nd to Brady Hanover. He’s hard to leave off multi-race tickets. (7) LIGHT THE TORCH raced well when he had his win streak broken and he gets Roy in the bike now. He has missed three weeks, however, and I’ll use him underneath. (1) ARIZONA JACKSON likely sits a trip and lands in the bottom of the exotics. Race 7: NW $14,500 L5 AE: NW7 or $100,000 LT AE: NW2 L10 The last time (9) POSEIDON SEELSTER raced this low was on 10/07 last year and he jogged in 1:50 3/5. He is strictly the one to beat at this level. (3) FUNATTHEBEACH N is also dropping, and he should be sharper coming back in seven days this time. He won close to 1/3 of his starts last year and he should be a threat here. (4) LEGION SEELSTER raced well first up last week, but he provided perfect cover to the rival that beat him. I think he sits and rallies for a share this time. (10) H P MOMENTUM will likely be far back early, but he should pass many of these and land on the edges. Race 8: NW $15,000 in 2023 - Pick 4 (4) BIG BULLY is a new horse in the Smith barn, and he comes off a phenomenal lifetime-best score on a cold night and he should be very tough to beat here as he seeks a threepeat. (1) KINCAID SEELSTER blasted from the 9-hole last week so he should be able to get a good start here from the rail. If he lands in the pocket, he probably completes the Exacta. (5) CONTROL THE POWER hasn’t missed the board racing at this level and he should be in the exotics mix again here. (7) HES SWIFT has been okay in his first two starts back and this is a spot where he can round out the Tri or Super. Race 9: PREFERRED 2 (4) COVERED BRIDGE and (1) POINTS NORTH finished a nose apart last week and they will likely battle for the win here with Taurasi not in this field. Nod goes to the former who was raced aggressively last week but took a critical shuffle on the last turn. (7) SAULSBROOK VICTOR should get a solid pace to chase, and he should be able to close for a share here. (3) CENTURY HEINEKEN should blast for position, sit a trip, and stay for a share. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 10: 5YO and younger winners of 2 but not more than 4 or $45,000 LT (9) KAPTAIN KARLOS fired out for the lead last week, but he had to abort that mission, or he would have been three-wide into the opening turn. The horse that insisted on making front was the eventual easy winner. This gelding finished willingly after taking a brief final turn shuffle and he gets the nod here. (6) SPEAKER OF PEACE closed to edge the choice for 2nd, and he is the obvious threat here and second one that I’ll use on multi-race tickets. (10) LETS GO JUDE would be rated higher if he drew better. From out there, I’ll use him underneath. (3) WRY was a nice winner last week, but this is a tougher class, and he is likely to take a small share here. Race 11: NW $5,750 L5 or $11,000 LT AE: 4YO NW $100 L3 (3) RESPECT OUR FLAG drops to a likely spot and gets a good post from which Cullen should be able to work out the winning trip; top call. (4) BEYOND BETTER appears to be cycling towards a top performance. He will probably be the one to fend off late in this spot. (7) NYTRO J is in easier here where his late kick should play. He is another to consider for the cash leg of the late Pick 4. (10) FABRIZIO N raced well in defeat last week, but he is hard to love on top stepping up and moving to the widest post. (5) P L OCTAVIUS should be good for another small slice vs. these.
