Top Pick Stats: 62/210 = -$69.40 Best Bets: 6/21 = –$16.70; Spot Plays: 3/21 = $-16.90 Best Bet: COCCO PUFF POWER (RACE 7) Spot Play: DG HOLI SHAMOLIE (RACE 4) Early Pick 5: 2,7/6/1,2,5/8/2,4,5,9 = $4.80 Late Pick 5: 1,3,6/2/1,3,6/6,8,9/4 = $5.40 Race 1: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 RACE (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) OR $8,500 LIFETIME. (2) DONTQUITYOURDAYJOB was conservatively handled during some miserable racing conditions in his sophomore debut. He had just a single qualifier in preparation for that start and is one that should be tighter this evening; top call. (7) MAGICAL BET will make his second start of his career after being a transportation scratch in his latest. He never left the rail in his career debut and finished an even 6th. His two qualifiers leading up to that effort were good ones, and this is one that I wouldn’t take lightly in here. (5) CORPORATE BUSINESS has hit the board in three straight tries and should have every chance to get a big piece. (3) CAPTAIN HURLEY was aggressively handled from pp10 in his career debut and finished 4th. He faced pressure for most of the mile and gets post advantage this evening; he can improve. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2:  FILLIES & MARES PREFERRED. (6) BLUE PACIFIC was picked off in the final few steps by her razor sharp stable mate, (3) CENTURY JAMILLA who has been able to rattle off four wins in a row. I’ll side with the former, who will likely be controlling this race and should have every opportunity to get back into the winner’s circle. (4) SO MUCH MORE was 3rd in her most recent effort behind the two above. She appears to be a notch below these two at this current moment, but should have every chance to secure a good piece. (2) GLENBORO rounded out the super in her latest and is one that should be able to hit the ticket in this short field. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Mohawk Park card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: FILLIES & MARES, NW $8,000 LAST 5 OR NW $17,500 LAST 10 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $50,000. AE: NW $85,000 LIFETIME. (5) ETHEL was never a factor in her latest from an outside draw, moving up in class. She rallied nicely at this level two starts back to be a solid 4th and is one that I’m willing to take a chance on with a middle of the gate draw, and a short field. (1) POWDER PLAY has been a runner-up finisher in consecutive starts, both of which came to class droppers. She was closing hard in both of those tries and will have as good a chance to find herself in the winner’s circle for the first time in 2025. (2) MISS DUTTON was 2nd to a game winner in her latest. She draws inside and can be in contention with a favorable trip. (7) CHIEFS DREAM GIRL was 3rd at this level two starts back. She draws outside and can close late for a share. Race 4:  FILLIES & MARES, 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER NW $15,000 (ON SIRED $25,000) LIFETIME. (8) DG HOLI SHAMOLIE got away towards the back of the pack in her latest but still cruised to a measured victory in that effort. She retains James MacDonald, who guided her to that win under very tight lines, and is one that I’m willing to go back to as a double-up candidate despite the step up in class. (5) WHISKEY BLUE CHIP has hit the board in three straight tries. She draws the middle of the gate and will likely be the one everyone else will have to chase, making her a threat. (6) CALCITE was aggressively handled in her latest and delivered her a maiden-breaking score in the process. She will now race for trainer Dean Nixon and is one that could continue to show progression here. (1) PRESCELTO ships in from an effort at Flamboro where she was never a factor. She’s failed to hit the board in three straight tries but was 2nd at this level on 2/21. She’s a good use in exotics. Race 5: FILLIES & MARES, NW $17,000 LAST 5 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $70,000. AE: NW $100,000 LIFETIME. (2) WESTERN WISH takes another dip in class after having to compete in the F&M Preferred. She has been very sharp racing at the class she’ll be competing in this evening, and is one that I will side with to find the winner’s circle in this spot. (4) RAPTORS WON has been a perfect 3-3 since entering the Jodie Cullen Barn. She gets to stay in this class by virtue of the $70k optional claiming tag and should be a main contender yet again. (9) GRIT N GRACE was aggressively handled in her latest despite missing nearly one month in between. She steps up in class but is one I’m willing to use on my ticket off that effort. (5) LYONS BETTORDAY failed to hit the board in her latest, but was coming off consecutive, 3rd-place effort in her starts prior. She draws much better this evening and will be a threat with the right trip. Race 6: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 (FM 3) RACES OR $20,000 (OS $29,500) LIFETIME. (3) GO BLUE will make his 2025 debut off a lone qualifier in preparation for it. He was 2nd off a pocket trip in that effort and was under no urging from Doug McNair in the process despite getting picked off by the eventual winner. He will debut for new trainer Gregg McNair and is one I’m willing to back here off the shelf. (6) MAMBO NUMBER SIX came first up at this level after an easy, maiden-breaking score in his career debut. He wasn’t able to clear and showed some greenness in that effort, but is one that will have every opportunity to bounce back. (1) TEN was an easy winner in his latest in what was a maiden-breaking score. He should be brimming with confidence and can tackle this group with a good effort despite the step up. (5) GREEN MONSTER will return to the races after a two month hiatus. His lone win in 2025 came at this level came on 1/3 and is one that is capable of a winning effort if tight enough; I’ll slot him underneath for now. Race 7:  FILLIES & MARES, 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 3 RACES OR $50,000 (OS $75,000) LIFETIME. (2) COCCO PUFF POWER will make her first start since 2/7 and is coming off a winning qualifier leading up to this event. She has had difficulty finishing off her miles but will appear on Lasix this evening, which I find to be a very positive addition. I’ll give her the nod. (8) SWIFT TALKER was a distant 4th in her latest. She was off one month prior to that effort and should be even tighter coming into this start. She can improve. (5) DEFININGTHE MOMENT hasn’t hit the board in her last four tries. She was never able to get involved from an outside draw last time out and was never a factor. She draws well this evening and can hit the ticket. (1) LOVE ON ME has hit the ticket at this level the last couple tries she’s competed here, and she’ll have every opportunity to do so again tonight. Race 8: NW $2,500 LAST 5 STARTS (W/O $12,500 LAST 10 STARTS N/E). AE: NOT AVERAGING $1,385 PER START IN 2024-25 (MIN 10 STARTS). AE: OPT. CLM. $20,000. (3) PESO HANOVER was aggressively handled in his latest and just got picked off at the line. He draws well and will be in the mix yet again this evening. (1) BUCK DANCER rallied from off the pace to pick off the one above. He draws the pole position and can work out another stalking trip here; using. (6) MISTER MAGIC never looked comfortable in his latest and was faltering before making a miscue. He draws well and is capable of a good effort at this level when he’s on his game. (2) SO NOT COOL ships back to the big track after a 4th place try at Flamboro. Tough to like as a win candidate but he can hit the ticket. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 9: CLAIMING $20,000 FOR NW $60,000 (OS $75,000) LIFETIME. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. (8) STARS TREASURE was able to find a seam late in the mile in his latest to get up for a nice score. He will have to work harder for early positioning having drawn the outside, but will have plenty of speed to chase, and is one I’ll side with in hoping for a price. (9) ON TIME DELIVERY went on a speed mission in his first start for new trainer Kyle Fellows and just got picked off at the line. He adds Lasix in this contest and is likely the one to beat in this spot. (6) TARQUINIS HANOVER was aggressively handled at a big number and blew up the tote board. He draws well and merits respect.  (5) JIMMY WHISPERS has been no worse than 3rd in three straight tries. He draws well, should be aggressively handled and can work out a really good trip. Race 10: FILLIES & MARES, NW $2,500 LAST 5 OR NW $8,000 LAST 10 STARTS. AE: NOT AVERAGING $900 P/S IN 2024-25 (MIN 10 STARTS). AE: OPT. CLM. $20,000. (4) CHICKABELL disappointed as the 4/5 choice and was unable to work out a favorable trip after. She stayed in along the cones after a pair of rivals put in steps heading into the first turn and couldn’t get clearance until it was too late. She finished up nicely to be 2nd and was claimed out of that contest by Kyle Fellows. (6) ONE LAST BET got away last from an outside draw but rallied nicely to be 3rd. She draws much better this evening and will be given every chance off that effort in her latest. (5) VOOM VOOM was forced into the safety lane after a rival in front of her put in steps. She was 9th in that effort but is one that can hit the ticket with a clean trip in here. (1) BLUEMEA KISS was never a factor in her latest but was making her first start back in one month. She is capable of a good effort when at her best and will have every chance at hitting the ticket. (3) ACEFORTY DAISY has failed to hit the board four straight tries. She has shown good speed at the end of her miles when on her game and is one that should be able to close for a piece here in this hi 5.
