(9) VANJIE BLUE CHIP fits much better here dropping back down to the NW2 level and he will likely offer a square price starting from a wide post. I’ll toss him in the Pick 5. (1) EXCITING MIA passes horses in every start and she could do in here given the right pace and trip setup; using. (2) MA ISABELLE likely needed last week’s start. She is another in with a shot, but I’ll use her underneath. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: POP UP SERIES: HORSES & GELDINGS NW $30,000 IN 2024 (MIN 15 STARTS) AE: NOT AVERAGING $1,500 PER START IN 2024 (MIN 15 STARTS). LEG 2. AE: LEG 1 STARTERS (8) BATTERUP HANOVER crushed and took a new life’s mark in Leg 1. If he comes close to repeating that mile, his rivals will be racing for 2nd tonight. (7) BETTOR THAN PRIDE was a gritty winner racing over a wet track here on Monday night. He can be an Exacta factor here. (5) HOWMAC MAXIMUS finished well last week, and he won’t get bet here; price look for the exotics. (2) MAD MAN HILL also comes off a good effort in Leg 1 and he is in the exotics mix.   [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Mohawk Park card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 3 (FM 6) RACES OR $66,500 (OS $75,000) LIFETIME. AE: 3 YEAR OLDS OPT. CLM. $60,000. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE (5) DREBIN trotted his fastest final 1/4 since early July last week but he was a victim of pace and trip in defeat. I think he moves earlier this time and wins. (8) DEVASTATE stole a 59 2/5 middle 1/2 on the lead which made the choice’s task near impossible. I don’t think he gets the same easy trip here, but he should be an Exacta factor. (1) R PEAKY BLINDERS can land in the money if he stays trotting this time. (3) IDITAROD has been racing great at the NW2 level. He should be part of the Tri or Super in spite of stepping up in class tonight. Race 4: CLAIMING $20,000 TO $25,000 FOR NW $55,750 (OS $67,250) LIFETIME. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. ENTER IN MULTIPLES OF $1,000 - Pick 4 (6) ROCKET FREIGHT has found something racing at this level and Borth has been finding good trips for him. He has a good shot of notching the threepeat here. (9) HESTONATOR made a big middle move to the front then he was so charged up that he went too fast in the third 1/4. He is a viable alternative to the choice. (2) DM SNAKEPLISSKEN can likely rally past a few of these and take a share here. (10) D A CAPTAINOBVIOUS is in terrific form but post 10 can be the great equalizer. I’ll use him underneath tonight. Race 5: FILLIES & MARES, 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 RACES OR $36,500 LIFETIME (4) ROCKS SHADOW gets back to a 7-day rotation and drops out of a stakes series, and she should offer a good price with Louis Gregg in the bike; slight nod. (6) SWIFT TALKER also exits a stakes series. Her good late kick should play well in this spot, and she might roll past them all late. (10) RED CARPET READY is another that fits better here and I could see Henry rolling her from the widest post; using. (3) STAG ROYAL looks to double up but she faces tougher. I’ll play to beat her tonight. Race 6: POP UP SERIES: HORSES & GELDINGS NW $30,000 IN 2024 (MIN 15 STARTS) AE: NOT AVERAGING $1,500 PER START IN 2024 (MIN 15 STARTS). LEG 2. AE: LEG 1 STARTERS - Pick 5 (3) HF PANS SHADOW was an impressive first up winner in Leg 1 and he gets the call to repeat here. (1) MAJOR HILL provided cover for the winner in a decent effort, and he should be right there again tonight. (2) ONTOP RAINMAN made his comeback in the fastest division, and he is worth a look at a price after stretching his legs in that rapid mile. (4) MAJOR FERNCO N should sit another good trip and land in the bottom of the exotics. Race 7: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 (FM 3) RACES OR $20,000 (OS $25,750) LIFETIME (10) MAJOR BANK returns to a 7-day rotation tonight and he is good enough to beat these if he gets a reasonable trip’ top call. (2) KADABRAKABOOM can get another good trip racing close to the front and he is a repeat threat; using. (8) LOOKS LIKE AMUSCLE draws better tonight, and he should be passing some rivals late. He can sneak into the exotics. (4) QUICKERTHANTHEYE will likely get another good trip racing near the front, but I prefer to use him underneath. Race 8: POP UP SERIES: HORSES & GELDINGS NW $30,000 IN 2024 (MIN 15 STARTS) AE: NOT AVERAGING $1,500 PER START IN 2024 (MIN 15 STARTS). LEG 2. AE: LEG 1 STARTERS - Pick 5 (6) CONTROL THE POWER made a nice wide move late chasing a dominant winner in the opening leg and he has a big shot here starting from the best post. (1) TAYLORS CREDIT produced a nice late kick in Leg 1. He is worth using on multi-race tickets at what will likely be a big price. (3) HUNTER HILL used the best post to advantage last week in wiring the field. He will likely get outsprinted early here starting from the inside, but he is a threat, nonetheless. (4) ARMOR SEELSTER woke up with a better effort in Leg 1. He can close for another slice here. Race 9: CLAIMING $20,000 TO $25,000 FOR NW $30,000 (OS $37,500) LIFETIME. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. ENTER IN MULTIPLES OF $1,000 - Pick 4 (5) ARAGONITE was well-driven to win last week, and he draws well facing similar tonight; call to repeat. (4) REDHOT REDEMPTION has improved sharply since he changed hands five starts ago and he looks fast enough to compete here; price look. (6) RAISING SAND got a good trip on the lead and he couldn’t fend off the choice. I’ll use him underneath here. (8) IDIDITMYSHUI raced okay to take a share here last week and he can do the same tonight. Race 10: POP UP SERIES: HORSES & GELDINGS NW $30,000 IN 2024 (MIN 15 STARTS) AE: NOT AVERAGING $1,500 PER START IN 2024 (MIN 15 STARTS). LEG 2. AE: LEG 1 STARTERS (6) NEEDABANKLOAN is clearly one of the best in this series and he should be tough to beat here starting from the best post considering his versatility. (2) PIPEWRENCH CHARLIE was used too hard early in the mile last week and he paid the price late. I think he sits and rallies this time, and he is worth using at a much better price. (8) DAY TRADER has been around the money in every start since he changed hands four starts ago. He is in the exotics mix. (1) TIME TO DANCING ships in from Ottawa in solid form. I see him rallying late for a small slice. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 11: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 3 (FM 6) RACES OR $66,500 (OS $75,000) LIFETIME. AE: 3 YEAR OLDS OPT. CLM. $60,000. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE (5) SID THE KID got an aggressive steer from Young to blow up the tote board last week and he has a good chance to repeat facing similar and starting from one of the best posts. (3) MRSTERY DEAL almost nailed the choice now he returns quicker and draws better. He would be no surprise here. (8) PERFECT ANGEL was closing best last week, but she draws worst, and she has no gate speed. Another small share is likely her ceiling. (2) GOOBER SMACK’s return race was decent, and he should be part of the exotics again. Race 12: FILLIES & MARES, 2 & 3 YEAR OLDS NW $16,500 (ON SIRED $28,900) LIFETIME (3) CHANCY BET gets both class and post relief tonight and she should get put into play earlier in the mile; top call. (7) LOVE ON ME produced a very fast kicker last week which is a sign she is likely cycling to a top effort. She will be on my late multi-race tickets. (1) O LARGE MARGE gets a barn change and the leading driver and those changes are enough to make her worth a look. (4) ABSOLUTION should improve here dropping out of the Niagara series. She is another in with a shot. (2) LE BEC FIN made an aggressive move to beat easier and she likely lands in the bottom of the exotics in this field.
