ETOBICOKE, Ontario - Woodbine scrapped Sunday's 10th and final race after an accident in the starting gate involving Beer Mosa, who was scratched from the maiden event before the cancelation but was reportedly uninjured. Beer Mosa’s apprentice rider, Desean Bynoe, and an unnamed assistant starter were both taken to hospital for assessment. Bynoe sustained a broken leg, and the assistant starter was subsequently released and has been resting at home. The canceled race will be offered Friday as a carryover and will be re-opened to new entries. It will be given equal preference in the condition book, according to a statement from the Woodbine race office. Bynoe is the latest jockey to be injured and sidelined at Woodbine this year, following David Moran, Jose Campos, Rico Walcott, and Emma-Jayne Wilson. Among them, only Campos has resumed riding at the meet. :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering? Check out DRF's Handicapping 101 and Wagering 101 pages.
