ARCADIA, Calif. - Trainer Dale Romans wanted an inside post for Dennis’ Moment for Friday’s $2 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile at Santa Anita. He just didn’t want the extreme inside post. But Dennis’ Moment did indeed draw the rail in a nine-horse field entered Monday for the 36th Breeders’ Cup Juvenile. Dennis’ Moment, a 19 1/4-length maiden winner and the winner of the Grade 3 Iroquois Stakes at Churchill Downs, was made the 8-5 morning-line favorite by Santa Anita linemaker Jon White. “I wanted to be down on the inside,” said Romans, who is 0 for 8 in the Juvenile.  “I’d just as soon not be in the 1. It just makes it more important that he break good.” Irad Ortiz Jr. rides Dennis’ Moment. :: BREEDERS’ CUP 2019: See DRF’s special section with fields, odds, comments, and more The Juvenile field is smallest field since nine were entered and ran here in this race in 2012. Bob Baffert, a four-time winner of the Juvenile, sends out Eight Rings, who won the Grade 1 American Pharoah over this track in September. Eight Rings, named for the number of Super Bowl rings won by NFL coach Bill Belichick, drew post 6 and was made the 3-1 co-second choice. Maxfield, the impressive winner of the Grade 1 Breeders’ Futurity at Keeneland for Brendan Walsh, is the other 3-1 second choice. He will break from post 9. Outside of Dennis’ Moment, in post order, are Wrecking Crew, Shoplifted, Storm the Court, Scabbard, Eight Rings, Anneau d’Or, Full Flat, and Maxfield.
