Wesley Ward has shipped seven runners overseas for next week’s Royal Ascot meeting. Six of the horses are 2-year-olds, with 3-year-old filly Kimari bound for the Group 1 Commonwealth Stakes. An eighth American horse, the Graham Motion-trained Sharing, has yet to ship overseas but is intended for the Coronation Stakes on Ascot’s closing day, Saturday, June 20. Ward’s lineup consists of Sheriff Bianco (Oisin Murphy) and Sunshine City (Frankie Dettori) for the Windsor Castle Stakes on Wednesday; Flying Aletha (Dettori) for the Albany Stakes, Golden Pal (no rider yet) for the Norfolk Stakes, and Kimari (Dettori) in the Commonwealth on Friday; and Royal Approval (no rider) and Campanelle (Dettori) for the Queen Mary on Saturday. The Royal Ascot meet runs spectator-free Tuesday through Saturday next week. The Tuesday features are the Group 1 Queen Anne and the Group 1 King’s Stand.
