SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – War Like Goddess, who was forced to miss the Grade 2 Flower Bowl earlier this month due to an illness, is on target to try for a repeat victory in the Grade 1 Joe Hirsch Turf Classic next Saturday at Belmont Park. On Friday, War Like Goddess worked a half-mile in 50.51 seconds over the Oklahoma dirt course. “She looked good. She was anxious going off and galloped out good,” trainer Bill Mott said. “That’s normal for her. I could have worked her in company or worked her on the grass, but she does enough on the dirt and I’m somewhat convinced it keeps her more sound.” :: Bet the races with a $250 First Deposit Match + $10 Free Bet and FREE Formulator PPs! Mott said a decision has not yet been made on who will ride War Like Goddess in the Hirsch. Cody’s Wish, third in the Grade 1 Whitney, was scheduled to work Saturday at Saratoga for a start in next Saturday’s Grade 2 Vosburgh. :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering?
