HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – Tracy Ann’s Legacy, who finished third after contesting a wicked-fast pace in the Abundantia Stakes here on New Year’s Day, will return to the allowance ranks to face six rivals, including the speedy stakes winner Boerne, in Wednesday’s $48,000 allowance feature for fillies and mares at five furlongs on the turf. Tracy Ann’s Legacy stalked a 20.95-second opening quarter set by Lenzi’s Lucky Lady in the five-furlong Abundantia and was still battling for the lead after a 43.59 half-mile split. She was finally overtaken by winner Hear My Prayer nearing midstretch, losing second to the fast-closing Victory Kingdom in the closing strides. :: Enhance your handicapping with DRF’s Gulfstream Park Clocker Report Tracy Ann’s Legacy, claimed for $22,000 out of a win last summer at Monmouth Park, will go back on Lasix on Wednesday. Horses are not allowed to run on Lasix in stakes at this meet. Tracy Ann’s Legacy is one of four horses who’ll compete in Wednesday’s headliner exiting the Abundantia, along with Dixieincandyland, Compensate, and Spun Glass, the sixth-, seventh-, and eighth-place finishers. Dixieincandyland lost her best chance when forced to steady sharply after the break. Boerne is the biggest question mark, having made all eight starts on dirt. A daughter of Fed Biz, Boerne is out of the mare Seeking the Jewel, who never raced on grass and whose six progeny are a combined 0 for 6 over the surface. Boerne has started just twice since winning the Azalea over a sloppy track here July 4 and not since finishing ninth in the Fort Springs Stakes last November at Keeneland. The fourth-place finisher in the Fort Springs, Fair Maiden, returned to win the Grade 1 La Brea at Santa Anita in her next start.
