OZONE PARK, N.Y. – Tizzy in the Sky is looking to rejuvenate her career, and for the 5-year-old mare there is no better place to do that than Aqueduct in Saturday’s Grade 3, $200,000 Go for Wand Stakes. Tizzy in the Sky has a record of 4-2-0 from seven starts at the Big A. Three of her four wins have come by nine lengths or more, including a victory by that exact margin in the Top Flight here April 14. One of her second-place finishes came to Dr B in last year’s Go for Wand, which at one mile may be shorter than Tizzy in the Sky’s ideal distance, though she won her maiden going a mile in September 2022. “If she can get in the right position, she does like Aqueduct. She has consistently run well there,” trainer Todd Pletcher said. “I think a mile and an eighth is really her preference.” Tizzy in the Sky, a daughter of Sky Kingdom, has not run since she finished last of six in the Grade 1 Ogden Phipps on June 8 at Saratoga. She did break through the gate prior to the official start of the race. “She got a little fractious in the gate in the Ogden Phipps,” Pletcher said. “Not sure how much that cost her, but it didn’t help.” Flavien Prat rides Tizzy in the Sky from the rail. :: Bet the races with a $200 First Deposit Match + FREE All Access PPs! After winning the Grade 3 Bayakoa at Oaklawn Park in February, Comparative finished seventh in the Grade 2 Azeri, also at Oaklawn, in March. She hasn’t run since finishing fourth, 13 3/4 lengths behind Tizzy in the Sky, in the Top Flight. “She was a little flat and tired after all the traveling and basically running her back on short rest,” trainer Brad Cox said. “She was asking for a break. It was too late to breed her, so we decided if she trained well we’d try her back, and she’s trained very well so looking forward to getting her started.” Trainer Chad Brown has the uncoupled pair of Occult and Shidabhuti in the Go for Wand. Occult, a daughter of Into Mischief, has earned her two highest Beyer Speed Figures in her last two starts, a win going a mile at Saratoga and the Grade 1 Spinster at 1 1/8 miles at Keeneland, where she finished second to Idiomatic. “The cutback I don’t think will hurt her, it seems like she’s in good form,” Brown said. “Her last race against Idiomatic was super.” Shidabhuti is coming off a solid allowance victory going seven furlongs at Keeneland in October. In three runs at one mile at Aqueduct, Shidabhuti has two wins and a third behind Soul of An Angel and Randomized in the Grade 2 Ruffian here in May. Those two horses have since come back to win Grade 1 stakes. Linda Rice entered both Movie Moxy and Ain’t Broke, though Ain’t Broke was re-entered in Sunday’s $135,000 Garland of Roses Stakes. Movie Moxy is coming off a game neck victory over stablemate St. Benedicts Prep in a Nov. 24 allowance. Stonewall Star and Rachel’s Rock complete the field for the Go for Wand, which is carded as race 4. :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering?
