ETOBICOKE, Ontario — Tiz Blessed, based at Belmont with trainer Chad Brown, won his first start over a synthetic surface with ease Sunday at Woodbine Racetrack in the $152,100 Display Stakes. With Patrick Husbands aboard, Tiz Blessed rallied along the rail into contention on the far turn in the 1 1/16-mile route for 2-year-olds. He overtook pacemaker Sardonicus at the quarter pole, and then drew away in the stretch to score by 5 1/2 lengths, in a time of 1:44.23. Moonshine Mullin wound up second after a stalking trip, and Silverleo held off favored Bear’s Future for third in the eight-horse field. Tiz Blessed ($6.90), who was coming off a troubled fourth in the Garden State Stakes at Monmouth, collected $90,000 for the Gary and Mary West Stable. “He’s always trained well for us,” said assistant trainer Cherie Devaux. “We knew he was a good horse. We had some bad luck at Monmouth, so we’re very happy that things worked out well here.”
