Super Chow won his third consecutive race Saturday when he forged to a 2 1/2-length victory over Handsome Playboy in the $50,000 Inaugural at Tampa Bay Downs. Both stakes were open races, but Florida-breds who met certain eligibilities ran for a maximum purse of $100,000 and all other runners ran for $50,000. Super Chow ($3.20), a Kentucky-bred by Lord Nelson, earned $30,000 for his first-place finish Saturday. He broke sharply and quickly was in command of the race through an opening quarter in 22.31 seconds. Super Chow continued to lead through a half-mile in 45.14, came three-wide into the stretch, withstood a challenge from Handsome Playboy and went on to cover six furlongs on a fast track in 1:09.60. :: DRF Bets members get FREE DRF Past Performances - Formulator or Classic.
