ARCADIA, Calif. - Two horses that finished fifth in consecutive races at Del Mar last August have tested positive for the prohibited substances, Sildenafil, more commonly known under the trade name Viagra, and the anti-inflamatory Dexamethasone. The positives were found in post-race tests taken from Iancol, who was fifth in the third race on Aug. 12, and Shakeitupbetty, who was fifth in the fourth race the same day. In rulings issued Saturday, Santa Anita stewards ordered the horses disqualified from purse earnings because of the positives. A total of $900 was ordered returned. Iancol and Shakeitupbetty are trained by Mike Mudaris, who faces a possible fine or suspension for the positives. The stewards have yet to conduct a hearing with Mudaris. :: Enjoy news and analysis from DRF? Get handicapping analysis, real-time coverage, special reports, and charts. Unlock access with DRF Plus.
