VANCOUVER, British Columbia - Solid favorites won both of the stakes races that were held at Hastings last weekend. What R the Odds paid $5 for her win over Dandy Dora in the $51,066 Emerald Downs Stakes for 3-year-old fillies on Sunday. Breaking alertly with leading rider Fernado Perez aboard, What R the Odds stalked Dandy Dora for the first half-mile, and then took control of the race going around the second turn. Final time for the 6 1/2 furlongs was 1:17.81. What R the Odds, who was purchased by her trainer Mel Snow for $1,000 at the 2007 Ocala Breeders' winter sale, increased her earnings to $105,600. She is owned by Snow's wife, Fran Snow. Almost Time paid $3.70 for his popular win in the $54,640 Jim Coleman Province Stakes for 3-year-olds on Saturday. Ridden by Frank Fuentes, Almost Time settled in the middle of the pack early, made a strong move while going three wide on the backstretch, took the lead at the quarter pole and was never threatened the rest of the way. Tommy Danzigger forced the pace and held on well to finish second. Final time for the 6 1/2 furlongs was 1:16.49. Almost Time is trained by Dino Condilenios and owned by Swift Thoroughbreds Inc.
