The National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame will present a traveling exhibit commemorating the 50th anniversary of Secretariat’s Triple Crown throughout the spring and summer this year, in an itinerary that will include appearances at the three tracks hosting Triple Crown races, the museum announced on Wednesday. The exhibit, which is called “A Tremendous Machine,” in reference to announcer Chic Andersen’s call of the Belmont Stakes, will be set up at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky., from May 3-6; at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Md., from May 18-20; and at Belmont Park on Long Island from June 8-11. :: Bet the races on DRF Bets! The traveling portion of the exhibit will then be moved to Colonial Downs in Virginia, the state where Secretariat was bred, from Sept. 7-9. The full museum exhibition will be on display through Oct. 29. “It is an honor to share the awe-inspiring story of Secretariat and the people around him on this golden anniversary of horse racing’s greatest test, the Triple Crown,” said Jessica Cloer, the curator of the National Museum of Racing. “We hope that everyone will have an opportunity to visit the exhibition at the museum or at one of the tracks as we bring the incomparable story of the great Secretariat to both longtime and new fans of the sport.” :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering?
