Jockey Ricardo Santana Jr. is scheduled to resume riding Sunday at Oaklawn Park, according to Arkansas state steward Bernie Hettel. Santana has been in an Oaklawn-directed quarantine after riding at Fair Grounds in New Orleans on Louisiana Derby Day. His top mounts Sunday include Blue Moonrise in the eighth race, an optional $100,000 claiming route for fillies and mares at a mile. Blue Moonrise beat optional $50,000 claiming rivals in her most recent start Feb. 28 at Oaklawn. Santana was aboard that afternoon. Blue Moonrise is owned by Phoenix Thoroughbred III and trained by Steve Asmussen. ◗ Ruidoso Downs has delayed the opening of its stable area to May 1 to be in compliance with extended state restrictions related to the coronavirus pandemic, the New Mexico track announced Thursday.
