This is the second running of this 5f handicap for three-year-olds rated 0-105 won in convincing style last season by the 6/4 favourite (in a 21-runner handicap), Art Power, who ran here off a mark of 97 rather than contest the Group 1 Commonwealth Cup. The market proved to be very accurate with the second-favourite, Keep Busy, being the one to follow him home (so a northern-trained 1-2 for Tim Easterby and Kevin Ryan) albeit at a respectable distance of 3½l and both went on to contest Group 1s later in the season so look for something with that kind of potential, if that’s not stating the bleeding obvious. The most interesting aspect of the full result of the inaugural running though was that although fillies were outnumbered 2:1 they finished second, third, fourth and fifth.
