The two-time stakes winner Reincarnate is on schedule for his first start since early July in the Grade 1 Pennsylvania Derby at Parx Racing on Sept. 23, trainer Bob Baffert said in a text message on Wednesday. Reincarnate has not raced since a front-running win in the Los Alamitos Derby at 1 1/8 miles on July 8. Sent off at even money, Reincarnate won by 2 1/2 lengths. After the Los Alamitos Derby, Baffert rated Reincarnate as a candidate for the Grade 1 Travers Stakes at Saratoga on Aug. 26, but said in mid-August that the colt would pass the race. The stable ran National Treasure, the winner of the Preakness Stakes in May, who finished fifth behind Arcangelo. Reincarnate has worked quickly at Del Mar in recent weeks, including six furlongs in 1:12.20 on Monday. The $1 million Pennsylvania Derby is run at 1 1/8 miles and is one of the last major dirt stakes of the year for 3-year-olds. :: Bet with the Best! Get Free DRF PPs and Cashback when you wager.
