Warrawee Ubeaut etched her place in harness racing history on Friday afternoon at The Red Mile, becoming the sport's fastest ever 2-year-old, regardless of sex, by virtue of a breathtaking 1:48 3/5 performance in the day's second of four International Stallion Stakes contests for pacing fillies. With Yannick Gingras at the lines, Warrawee Ubeaut got away fifth to the 27-second opening quarter, but then came with a backside blitz that carried her into the lead around Beautyonthebeach (Doug McNair) passing the 55 1/5 half.  Warrawee Ubeaut just kept right on going from there, blazing through three-quarters in 1:22 and kicking out a 26 3/5 final quarter to seal the world record mile.  Queen Of The Pride (Tony Hall) was second, 2 3/4 lengths back, and Zero Tolerance (David Miller) was third. The 1:48 3/5 clocking erased the 1:50 clocking of Youaremycandygirl for the quickest-ever by a 2-year-old pacing filly, and also bettered the colt mark of 1:49 belonging to Huntsville, Downbytheseaside, and Warrawee Ubeaut's sire, Sweet Lou. "I said all along she's got gears that not many horses I've ever driven have got," said Gingras.  "Warrawee Needy (her half-brother) had those gears too.  It's all been a process of keeping her head on straight.  It's the biggest challenge we have.  She's a little bit tricky at times, and she can be a little grabby, but speed-wise that doesn't surprise me." Ron Burke trains Warawee Ubeaut, who was bred by Warrawee Farm, is out of the Apaches Fame mare Great Memories, and sold for $70,000 at last year's Lexington Selected Yearling Sale, for owners Burke Racing Stable LLC., Phillip Collura, Jandt Silva Purnel & Libb, and Weaver Bruscemi LLC.  Warrawee Ubeaut has six wins from nine tries, and she has now earned $300,393.  She was the 4-5 favorite and paid $3.60 to win. Gingras, Burke, and the same ownership group also won the next split with St Somewhere in 1:50 4/5.  The daughter of American Ideal brushed from third to first going to the 55 4/5 half and held control from there, winning by three-parts of a length.  Early leader Art Lecture (Tim Tetrick) came up the inside from the pocket and was second, with favored Prescient Beauty (McNair) third after only finishing evenly off a second-over trip. "I thought the fractions were fair," remarked Gingras.  "She's a really nice filly who has been doing a lot of traveling lately but keeps showing up." St Somewhere, who was bred by Crawford Farms LLC., is out of the Somebeachsomewhere mare Somstreetsomewhere, and fetched $55,000 at the 2017 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale, is now a four-time winner with a bankroll of $168,178.  She was the 3-1 second choice and returned $8.20 to win.Derick GiwnerAnnie Hill found the room she needed The remaining two divisions that Gingras and Burke didn't win were both taken by driver Andrew McCarthy.  He guided Annie Hill to victory in the first split, then came back to win the final one with She's A Great Lady champion Tall Drink Hanover. Annie Hill led her six foes to the 27 2/5 first quarter, but then she gave way to Renaissance Lady K (Brian Sears), who would go on to hit the half in 55 3/5 and the three-quarters in 1:24 1/5.  Renaissance Lady K continued to lead in the lane, but Annie Hill was crying out for room, which she found up the cones.  Once clear, she blew by Renaissance Lady K and went on to win by three-parts of a length in 1:51 4/5.  Renaissance Lady K broke late but was deemed not to have violated any rules, so she kept second, with Cruise (David Miller) back in third. "I was a little worried, but it opened up and was fine," McCarthy said about finding the space to pace with Annie Hill. A Captaintreacherous-Western Silk filly, Annie Hill is trained by Chris Oakes for owner Tom Hill.  She made her fourth appearance in the winner's circle, and she now shows earnings of $64,919.  Annie Hill, who paid $6.80 to win as the 2-1 second choice, was bred by White Birch Farm and went for $87,000 at last year's Lexington Selected Yearling Sale. Tall Drink Hanover and McCarthy advanced into the lead going to the 55-second half in her race, then went on to put three-quarters on the board in 1:23 1/5.  Through the stretch a group of closers tried to reach, but it was to no avail, as Tall Drink Hanover held sway to win by a length and a quarter in 1:50 flat.  Undefiable (Tetrick) put in a good first-over try and was second, with first leader Sylph Hanover (Matt Kakaley) third. "It was a nice training mile," relayed McCarthy.  "Burke's filly is going to be hard to beat (in the Breeders Crown), but I think she can do it." The victorious daughter of Captaintreacherous-Take Into Account is trained by Alagna for owners Alagna Racing LLC., Marvin Katz, and Riverview Racing LLC.  This was her sixth win from nine trips behind the gate, and she has now pocketed $343,914.  Bred by Hanover Shoe Farms Inc., Tall Drink Hanover was a $35,000 acquisition at the Standardbred Horse Sale.  She was the 3-5 favorite and returned $3.20 to win.
