Total viewership of the Preakness Stakes broadcast on NBC and its associated streaming platforms averaged 5.5 million viewers and peaked at 7 million viewers, according to the network. The total viewership figure – which includes those watching on traditional television and those watching on streaming services like Peacock – was up 7 percent over last year’s figure and was the highest for a Preakness broadcast since 2021, according to the network. The show ran from 4:30 p.m. Eastern on Saturday until 7:30 p.m., with the race going to post just after 7 p.m. Two weeks ago, viewership of the Kentucky Derby on NBC and its associated platforms was up 13 percent, to an average of 16.7 million viewers, peaking at 20.1 million viewers for the race portion of the broadcast.
