Fox Hill Farms's two-time graded winner Old Fashioned will enter stud alongside his sire Unbridled's Song at Taylor Made Farm near Lexington, Ky. Fox Hill's owner, Rick Porter, and Taylor Made announced Monday that they had reached an agreement to put Old Fashioned on the same stallion roster with Unbridled's Song, who stood this year for an advertised fee of $112,500 if paid on Nov. 1 and $125,000 under stands-and-nurses terms. Bred by Lorraine and Rod Rodriguez, Old Fashioned sold to Porter for $800,000 at the 2007 Keeneland September yearling sale. Larry Jones trained the colt. Old Fashioned won his first four starts by a combined 26 lengths. Those wins included the Grade 2 Remsen at age 2 and Grade 3 Southwest Stakes at 3 this year. Old Fashioned became a leading contender for the 2009 Kentucky Derby, but his Derby campaign derailed when he came off a second-place finish in the Grade 2 Arkansas Derby with a career-ending slab fracture in his right knee. Old Fashioned, who is out of the Meadowlake mare Collect Call, won 4 of 6 starts and finished second twice. He earned $583,280.
