Youth was served at the Curragh on Sunday as 3-year-old fillies Oh Goodness Me and Firey Red finished one-two in the Group 3, $123,000 Park Express Stakes, narrowly defeating the 4-year-old Mad About You, the 3-10 favorite. Trained by Jim Bolger, Oh Goodness Me stamped herself as a possible Oaks contender as she came from just off the pace to score by a short head over Firey Red, with Mad About You a head farther back in third. Second in two listed races last year, the 12-1 Oh Goodness Me is a Galileo filly who, like Firey Red, was receiving 15 pounds on the scale from Mad About You, the runner-up in last year's Irish 1000 Guineas. * After racing was completed at the Curragh, Aidan O'Brien worked 48 of his horses in three separate heats that looked very much like practice races. Mastercraftsman, currently the favorite for the 2000 Guineas, finished a close fourth behind listed-placed Poet in his seven-furlong heat, in which Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf runner-up and French 2000 Guineas candidate Westphalia was third. Rip Van Winkle, who suffered an overreach two months ago that cost him 2000 Guineas favoritism, could only manage sixth in his one-mile heat.
