ETOBICOKE, Ontario — Not So Quiet proved to be a very gutsy winner in Saturday’s $100,800 Overskate Stakes at Woodbine in his first start around two turns. Not So Quiet ($8.40) went straight to the lead along the inside, but was soon joined by Eskiminzin and Red Cabernet. The trio battled to the top of the stretch, where Not So Quiet assumed command before holding on for a three-quarter-length score, in a time of 1:31.03 for the 7 1/2 furlongs on the inner turf. The favored Royal Laser rallied for second while being carried a little wide in deep stretch. Red Cabernet nosed out her stablemate, Dun Drum, for third in the 10-horse field of Ontario-sired runners. :: Start earning weekly cashback on your wagering today. I just tried to make sure I stayed (up) there and to not let the other horses drop over and (get me to) suck back. I kept my position. Turning for him, he kept rolling.” Trained by Mark Casse, Not So Quiet earned $60,000 for Heste Sport Inc. The son of Silent Name also won his previous start on the inner turf, the five-furlong Vice Regent Stakes.
