Trainer Greg Tracy and jockey Fernando Perez teamed up to win both divisions of the $50,000 Two Year Old Sales Stakes at Northlands Park on Saturday. Both horses were solid favorites. My Daddy’s Girl paid $3.10 for her 2 3/4-length win in the fillies division. Considering the ease of Golden Cup’s 5 1 /4-length win in the colts division, the $4.10 win price was an overlay. Breaking from the rail in the eight-horse field, Golden Cup sat just off his stablemate Kingoftherockies through a quick quarter-mile of 22.40 seconds. He took over the lead after a half-mile in 47.40 and then took complete command of the 6 1/2-furlong race. He opened up an eight-length lead at the top of the stretch and was never threatened by Silent Sam, who made a late move to finish a clear second over Black Canaveral . Final time for the race was 1:19.80. My Daddy’s Girl led from start to finish to beat Ruckus Time by 2 3/4 lengths in the fillies division. She posted a final time of 1:20.20. Perez’s win aboard Golden Cup was his fourth on the card.
