Driven by Chris Lems, Longshot followed Up Blueberry Hill (Chris Page) from the pocket through fractions of 27 4/5, 56 3/5, and 1:25 1/5, tipped out on the final bend, took the lead in the lane, and edged clear to tally by a length and a quarter in 1:54. Up Blueberry Hill held second from Motto (Matt Kakaley). A Long Tom gelding bred by Perry Coblentz, Longshot is trained by Scott Cox for owners Wayne Mast Jr. and Callam Racing LLC. Longshot posted his eighth career win, has now earned $100,556, and paid $7.80 to win as the 5-2 second choice. The second grouping saw Rose Run Xtra (Page) click off panels of 28, 56 3/5, and 1:25 2/5 on his way to scoring by a length and a quarter in 1:53 4/5.
