Bennett Liebman, the former executive director of the Government Law Center at the University of Albany in New York State, has been appointed the deputy secretary for gaming and racing by New York Gov. Anthony Cuomo, according to Cuomo’s office. Liebman, a former commissioner on the New York State Racing and Wagering Board, oversaw the establishment of the Government Law Center, focusing on the study of laws and policies impacting racing and gambling nationwide. He also served as counsel to the New York racing and wagering board before being named a commissioner.
