Jeff Mullins, who ranks among the top 10 trainers in wins at the Santa Anita winter-spring meeting, is moving a dozen horses to Gulfstream Park. Mullins said on Sunday that six horses have arrived in South Florida from California and another six were scheduled to be flown there in the middle of the week. Learn more “We’re going to test the waters here a little bit,” he said. “I brought some horses that needed to run. They have three surfaces, so that gives us a lot of options.” Aside from a main track and turf course, Gulfstream Park installed a synthetic track on the exterior portion of its turf course last fall. This year, Mullins has won one stakes – the California Cup Derby in January with Fast Draw Munnings. Mullins, 58, had a small stable at Keeneland and Churchill Downs in the spring of 2019, winning with 2 of 18 starters.
