Why Why Paul Why earned his fourth consecutive victory Tuesday in Parx Racing’s $100,000 Kris Kringle Stakes for 3-year-olds and up at a mile and 70 yards. The Kris Kringle was co-featured on the program with the $100,000 Mrs. Claus for fillies and mares at seven furlongs and the Blitzen for 3-year-olds and up at six furlongs. Trained by Penny Pearce for JKX Racing, Why Why Paul Why settled outside in the second flight as Rock On Luke and favored Davidic Line sparred through opening fractions of 23.56 and 47.05. Davidic Line emerged from the pace dispute with a short lead but was soon collared by a four-wide Why Why Paul Why and jockey Kendrick Carmouche. Why Why Paul Why sustained his momentum to the wire and prevailed by 2 1/4 lengths over Davidic Line. It was another length back to I Am Redeemed. Also trained by Pearce, I Am Redeemed endured some traffic trouble in the final quarter-mile. Then came Bird King, Someday Jones, Rock On Luke, Informative, and Senior Investment. Amatteroftime, Brooklyn Strong, and Everett’s Song were scratched. The winner completed the distance in 1:42.92 and returned $8.40 to win as the co-third choice in the wagering.  :: Bet the races with confidence on DRF Bets. Why Why Paul Why has won five of six starts since being claimed by Pearce for $30,000 at Churchill Downs on June 20. “The owner pretty much picked him out and told me he’s on his way,” Pearce told Daily Racing Form late last week. After winning a two-other-than allowance at Parx on Oct. 19, Why Why Paul Why was offered at a Fasig-Tipton Midlantic sale this month and listed as an $88,000 RNA. Bred in Kentucky by Patchen Wilkes Farm, Why Why Paul Why is a son of Archarcharch out of Precious Beauty, a rare white mare by Whywhywhy. Blitzen Stakes: Dreams Untold gets sweet trip Dreams Untold enjoyed a beautiful three-wide, pace-tracking trip to win the Blitzen for trainer John Servis and jockey Frankie Pennington. Word On a Wing broke awkwardly and rushed up along the inside to battle for the early lead with Borracho through quick splits of 21.93 and 45.16 seconds. Meanwhile, Dreams Untold allowed the duel to unfold. He traveled sweetly to take the lead midway on the turn, then kept on rolling to the wire to score by 3 3/4 lengths in 1:10.46 seconds. Dreams Untold paid $13.20 as the public’s third choice. “He had a great post,” Servis said about post position 12. “He broke really sharp, so Frankie just had the opportunity to see what was going on in front of him. Favored Repo Rocks finished a non-threatening second. It was another half-length back to Fortheluvofbourbon. Next were New Commission, Battle Station, Final Shot, War Tocsin, Borracho, Prince of Rain, Dontmesawithme, Bybee, Smooth B, Word On a Wing, and Pnutbutter Special. Hollywood Jet and Violent Turbulence failed to draw in from the also-eligible list. A slow breaker earlier in his career, Dreams Untold behaved beautifully in the Blitzen. Servis hopes the 4-year-old gelded son of Smarty Jones has been cured of his bad habits. “It took a long time,” said Servis. “A lot of those Smartys are like that unfortunately. He’s overcome it though. He’s gotten way better. I must have taken him to the gate 20 or 30 times.” Dreams Untold was bred in Pennsylvania and is a homebred racing for Someday Farm. Someday and Servis campaigned Smarty Jones to win the Kentucky Derby and Preakness in 2004. The Blitzen was Dreams Untold’s first stakes victory. A half-brother to Grade 1-winning sprinter Centralintelligence, Dreams Untold has won six races from 16 starts with career earnings of $258,090. Mrs. Claus: Jakarta springs front-running upset Jakarta made her first start for trainer Michael Trombetta a winning one as she captured the Mrs. Claus in front-running style under jockey Mychel Sanchez. Breaking from the rail in the nine-horse field, Jakarta was aggressive from the opening bell. She set the pace while slightly off the inside and completed an opening quarter of 22.97 seconds while prompted by Hey Mamaluke. Jakarta dispatched her primary pursuer entering the turn, then turned back an inside mid-race bid from Truth Hurts after a half-mile clocking of 45.53. The winner kicked clear turning into the lane and had plenty left to hold off Miss Mosaic's determined charge. Jakarta completed the seven furlongs in 1:23.40 seconds and returned $38.60 to win as the sixth choice in the wagering. Miss Mosaic finished two lengths behind in second. It was another seven lengths back to beaten favorite Don't Call Me Mary. They were followed by Truth Hurts, Promised Storm, Dr B, Like a Pro, Excitable Lady, and Hey Mamaluke. Jakarta previously raced at Turfway Park on Dec. 4, finishing fifth in the Holiday Inaugural Stakes for trainer Michael Maker. :: Get Daily Racing Form Past Performances – the exclusive home of Beyer Speed Figures.  "I've only had her a little over a week or so," Trombetta said in a phone interview after the race. "I breezed her a couple of times and her breezes were very good." Trombetta added that he was concerned about breaking from the rail and told Sanchez to "get her on out of there and into the race." Both Jakarta and Miss Mosaic scratched from Sunday's Willa On the Move Stakes at Laurel Park, a race won by deep closer Kaylasaurus, who was also-cross entered in the Mrs. Claus. "She's plenty fast and the Laurel race was loaded with speed," Trombetta remarked about his decision to opt for the Mrs. Claus. "You could just predict that race [Willa On the Move] would have set up for a closer." Bred in Pennsylvania by Arrowwood Farm, Jakarta is a 6-year-old mare by Bustin Stones. She has won 9 of 27 starts for earnings of $425,783. Her prior stakes victory came in the off-turf Powder Break last year at Gulfstream Park. Jakarta is owned by Kirk Wycoff's Three Diamonds Farm and is entered as a racing or broodmare prospect in the upcoming Keeneland January auction. Trombetta said a decision as to whether Jakarta will race in 2022 is pending.
