Familiar names were atop the lists of leading sires, breeders, and owners of 2024. Into Mischief, who stands at Spendthrift Farm in Kentucky, claimed his sixth consecutive North American general sire earnings title, a streak that puts him in league with some of the all-time greats. The stallion’s progeny earned $35,406,575 in 2024, according to Daily Racing Form statistics. That not only easily outpaced runner-up Gun Runner, with $22,488,544, but smashed his own single-season earnings record of $28,568,753 from the 2022 season. In the modern era, only Bold Ruler, from 1963-69, has had more consecutive earnings titles than Into Mischief. Into Mischief sired a nation-leading five Grade/Group 1 winners in 2024, including Breeders’ Cup Juvenile winner and championship candidate Citizen Bull. At that point, Godolphin, which has bred a nation-leading 21 black-type stakes winners, easily leads Calumet Farm, $22,921,234 to $13,828,553. Calumet does have the distinction of breeding North America’s winningest horse of 2024, Tennessee Moon, by its sire Ransom the Moon. The filly won 13 of her 18 starts – mainly in starter or starter-optional company, but with a few low-level stakes wins – in 2024 for owner and trainer Mark Hibdon. Godolphin, which campaigned a pair of Breeders’ Cup winners in Immersive and Rebel’s Romance, also led North American owners by earnings, with a bankroll of $20,234,455 according to Equibase statistics through Dec. 31. Klaravich Stables was second with $8,375,757.
