Champion Midnight Bisou will be bred to two-time Horse of the Year and perennial classic sire Curlin in her first season as a broodmare in 2021. :: DRF BREEDING LIVE: Real-time coverage of breeding and sales Midnight Bisou arrived Thursday at Hill ‘n’ Dale, which stands Curlin. She will be boarded there for Chuck Allen, who purchased her for $5 million at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky fall selected mixed sale last month, buying out partners Bloom Racing and Madaket Stables. Bloom Racing will continue to manage the mare’s breeding career, the operation posted on its social media accounts Thursday. “Midnight Bisou was a mare with extraordinary ability,” Hill ‘n’ Dale president John Sikura said in a release. “We are honored that the owner has entrusted us with her care.” Midnight Bisou never missed the board in 22 career starts, and retired with 13 graded stakes victories and earnings of more than $7.4 million. She earned an Eclipse Award as the nation’s outstanding older female of 2019. Midnight Bisou’s sire, champion sprinter Midnight Lute, stands alongside Curlin at Hill ‘n’ Dale in Paris, Ky. The farm’s operations were relocated this fall to the former Xalapa Farm, which Sikura had acquired and restored.
