On Meadowlands Pace eve at The Big M, four New Jersey Sire Stakes champions (Villiam, Fortune Starlet, Play Trix On Me, and Ready Set Rock) in the 2-year-old divisions were crowned. Villiam (Tim Tetrick) pulled off an 85-1 stunner in the $200,000 colt and gelding pace, rallying for a 1:53 1/5 victory.  Follow Your Heart (Dexter Dunn) set a contested pace of 27, 55 1/5, and 1:23 1/5 in the race, with Rockin The Aces (Scott Zeron), who won both the preliminary legs, making a three-wide move to assume the first-over position past the half.  He was tracked second-over by favored Rockin The Gates (Yannick Gingras), who also attempted a three-wide move in the second quarter but got steppy while doing so and had to settle for a second-over position after collecting himself, and Villiam, who was fourth-over, then moved three-wide on the last turn to get around a parked and back-pedaling Rockin Jukebox (Russell Foster). In the stretch Rockin The Aces managed to forge his way into the lead despite the extended trip on the rim, but Tetrick had Villiam rallying off the cover, and Villiam got there in the last jump for the win by a nose over a tough-luck Rockin The Aces.  Follow Your Heart wound up third. "He made some changes, and it worked.  (Owner/trainer Eric Foster) did a good job," remarked Tetrick.  "He had hot fractions to follow, and my little guy paced to the wire.  I didn't think about winning, but I said I'm going to get a good check for the guy, and that was good.  It just turned out that I reached the wire in time.  Those other colts beat themselves up, and I got to pick up the pieces." Villiam is a Rock N Roll Heaven-Village Mirage (Western Hanover) gelding that Foster purchased for just $5,000 at the Lexington Selected Yearling Sale.  Bred by Ray Compari, Villiam, who is a half-brother to the likes of Gone Girl (Dragon Again, 1:50 1/5, $162,290), is the sixth foal out of the dam, who earned $237,332 and had a mark of 1:52 2/5.  This was Villiam's first win in his third start, and he returned $172.60 to win. The $200,000 filly trot was the other sire stakes final raced on the pari-mutuel program, and Fortune Starlet (Dunn) took the win in 1:54 3/5.  She parked almost all the way to the 56 second half-mile marker to get the lead, but pulled steadily away after taking over, winning by five lengths.  Caviart Eva (Andrew McCarthy) crossed the wire first but was off-stride in doing so, and was moved back to fourth behind Jula Champagne (Gingras) and Spoiled Princess (Brian Sears). "Last week was the first time I sat behind her, and you just fall in love with her.  She's got a beautiful gait and a great attitude," said Dunn.  "She showed last week what she could do, and she felt better tonight.  Once she found the front, there was no turning back.  She's still learning a little bit, but that mile for her, she felt quite comfortable.  She's got a bright future." Fortune Starlet, a Trixton-Fortune Dream (Daguet Rapide) filly, is trained by George Ducharme for owner W.J. Donovan.  Acquired for $65,000 at the Lexington Selected Yearling Sale, Fortune Starlet was bred by Deo Volente Farms LLC. and is a half-sister to Shoshie Deo (Wishing Stone, 1:53 4/5, $195,816).  A 7-2 shot, Fortune Starlet paid $9.40 to win. Tetrick also collected the $160,000 colt and gelding trot, raced as a non-betting event, with Play Trix On Me in 1:55 3/5.  Play Trix On Me, who ended up sweeping the event, fronted the field through panels of 29, 57 1/5, and 1:26 1/5, and prevailed by 14 1/4 lengths over Raintree Rebel (Dunn).  Barley (David Miller) came in third. The victorious Trixton colt is trained by Gareth Dowse for owner Matthew Dugan.  Bred by Steve Jones, Play Trix On Me, who has won all four of his starts and made $111,500, fetched just $4,500 at last year's Goshen Yearling Sale, but his dam Lima Playmate (Credit Winner) made $265,755 with a mark of 1:57. The filly pace was also a non-wagering contest, and Ready Set Rock (McCarthy) took the win in 1:56 3/5.  She blasted to the top from the outside post six, clicked off stations of 28, 56 2/5, and 1:25 3/5, and a 31 second final quarter was enough to get her the win by 3 1/2 lengths over Duck N Roll (Dunn).  Bigforherbritches (Chris Ryder) took third. Ready Set Rock is a Rock N Roll Heaven-Popcorn N Peanuts filly trained by Michael Hall, who also co-owns her with David Hamm and Ctc Stable.  Ready Set Rock, who broke her maiden in her fourth chance, was bred by Dreamlands Farms and was acquired for $9,000 at the Standardbred Horse Sale.  The dam, who earned $2,270 with no wins, is a half-sister to two six-figure earners, topped by Outlawgrabbingears (Smart Shark, 1:52 1/5, $139,278). The Kindergarten Classic Series for rookie trotters also kicked off on Friday night's card.  Gingras and trainer Per Engblom scored with big-ticket yearling purchases Synergy (1:56), a Father Patrick-Southwind Sauna colt who went for $275,000 in Lexington, and Hello Tomorrow (1:56 3/5), a Muscle Hill-Armbro Deja Vu filly who brought $380,000 at the Standardbred Horse Sale.  Ramona Hill, a daughter of Muscle Hill-Lock Down Lindy, took their other grouping in 1:54 4/5 for McCarthy and trainer Tony Alagna, and Back Of The Neck gave driver Mattias Melander his first career win at the Meadowlands as the Ready Cash-Big Barb colt took their other test in 1:56 4/5 for trainer Marcus Melander.
