FINAL CHAMPIONSHIP MEET STATS: 360-122-78-52 / $655.90 (-$64.10) BEST BETS: 26-16-4-2 / $57.90 (+$5.90) SPOT PLAYS: 26-7-5-4 / $47.80 (-$4.20) BEST BET: RAPTORS FLIGHT N (14th) SPOT PLAY: SWEET AMIRA (6th) Race 1: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club 1 Pace - Pick 5 (2) SEEUINNASHVILLE A comes back to The Meadowlands sharp from Monticello. He lands in a softer amateur spot than perhaps he is used to and should be handled as such. (8) CAPTAIN TERMINATOR wasn’t going very far from outside posts as a huge longshot at Philly in his last two. I’d expect a big wakeup performance this week. (5) YAYAS HOT SPOT N might need a start after missing more than a month of action. 14-year-old is certainly an exotics threat. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: Trackmaster 77 (NW L2 77.5/NW 2 in 2024 79.41) or less - Survivor 7 While winning really isn’t (1) PADUKA N’s forte nowadays, you have to admit he lands in a great spot as the one legitimate early speed horse in the race. He’s almost certain to work out a winning trip and then you just have to hope he feels like winning. (2) WHAMMER JAMMER was very sharp when last seen at the end of the Championship meet. Five weeks later, does he still have that edge? (8) BAILEYS ROCK N got a tightener and a tour of the Philly track last week. Veteran should be very competitive and picks up an aggressive driver. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Meadowlands card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: Non-winners $12,500 (NW 2L4 $13,000) in last 4 or 7 (NW L/S 8) races life/TM 85 or less (6) EUROBOND finds a great spot where he can gun to the front and get away with soft fractions; driver helps price. (5) UP YOUR DEO and (7) KHAOSAN ROAD are two talented Ake Svanstedt trainees which simply haven’t found themselves as 4-year-olds. Either horse could awaken with a big effort tonight. Race 4: Non-winners $5,000 (NW 2L4 $5,755) in last 4/TM 80.5 or less - Pick 6 (7) STRENGTHFROMABOVE should be pointed down the road in this spot and notice his last three wins dating back to summer 2023 where on big tracks. (8) KOLBY TWO STEP returns from a three month break off a decent qualifier. His best certainly makes him competitive in this field. (3) OREGON TRAIL ships down from Saratoga in hopes of better results. The mile track could fit his closing style. Race 5: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club Trot (8) BUZZ comes to town for Andrew Adamczyk, who has an insane 30 wins in 85 starts this year in the bike. Adamczyk just took over the training two starts back and he got a win last time out. (6) FASHION CANTAB was rolling along in this series before catching a bad spot on August 2 and then racing from off the pace (he likes to be close) last time at Freehold. Early speed is likely coming tonight. (2) GHIBLI isn’t the fastest horse in the field but she has closing power and that could come in handy in a field with plenty of potential early speed players. Race 6: Non-winners $12,500 in last 4 or 7 races life/TM 86.5 or less - Pick 4 (7) SWEET AMIRA debuted for Burke in May and hasn’t been seen since. The return qualifier was very sharp in 1:52 and the fastest time of the morning. I have a feeling she’s ready to roll. (4) BEACH COWGIRL gets much needed class relief here and you have to expect she’ll be forwardly placed. Worth noting that Bartlett is driving in the first four races at Saratoga so he’ll have a couple of hours to get down to The Big M in time. (5) ABSOLUTE POWER has been in the money 15 of 22 times this year. Race 7: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club 1 Pace (1) MUSCLE FACTORY A returns from a five-week vacation but has a reasonably good qualifier as a tune-up. He can sit just off the pace here and pounce under the right situation. (7) FERDINAND A rolled down the road when last seen here. No qualifier means we have to guess on fitness but at least we know he’ll be firing to the front. (4) T’S RAIDER II weakened after being used last time at Freehold after a few weeks away from racing. He could be tighter now. Race 8: Trackmaster 77 (NW L2/2L4/2L8 77.5/78/79.25) or less/NW $320 in last 4 - Pick 5 (8) SANTAFE’S APPETITE was written into this race via the AE condition and you have to expect the big class drop will produce better results, especially with Bartlett picking up the assignment. (5) CORSINI A also faces a softer group, though she’s been in this class before and was just a fringe contender. (2) P L PORTIA qualified back in good order. Her last victory back in June came in this condition. Race 9: Non-winners $7,500 (NW L2 $8,250) in last 4/TM 83.5 or less (2) DA DELIGHTFUL is coming off a nice effort and lands in a pretty easy spot. Classy veteran should prove tough. (3) IGNATIUS A has hefty career earnings as well, and he’s been taking on better at Yonkers. That said, it’s been a long time since he’s turned in a good effort over this surface. (7) BOBCAT BAY has big speed, good form and the ability to put in a strong mile. Race 10: Trackmaster 92 (NW L2/2L4 92.5/93) or less - Pick 4 There are a number of interesting contenders signed on to this race. (3) SOARING NOW has missed a bunch of time but qualified back much better than the line looks on paper as McCarthy sat last and he had plenty left late. Five-year-old is fast and only needs a decent trip and setup to fire. (7) NANDOLO N is the classiest horse in the field in terms of earnings and his form is fine. (1) WISH YOU WELL looked like he could be “something” but hasn’t been able to build on his Adios success; faces older now. Race 11: Non-winners $2,000 (NW L8 $2,420) in last 4 (10) DANCE PARTNER brushed with a 26 and change third quarter as a longshot in a tough class at Tioga last time only to tire late. That mile should have him ready for a good effort versus a very soft field. (3) ALWAYS B BILLY seems to be finding better form in recent weeks. (2) LITERL LAD HANOVER returns here at a reduced level and figures to have a say tonight. Race 12: Trackmaster 77 (NW L2/2L4/2L8 77.5/78/79.25) or less/NW $320 in last 4 (2) FUN WITH FLAGS has been racing very well of late and catches a pretty soft group here. (3) MARE OF THE CITY ships in off an easy win for a barn that can pop one here. Mare faces mostly younger foes tonight and has won over the track this year. (4) PULL ME THROUGH has finished second or third 13 times in 27 starts with no wins; using underneath seems best. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 13: Non-winners $3,000-$5,000 in last 4/TM 77-80 (NW L2/2L4/2L20 80.5/81/81.5) or less (4) THE AMERICAN EAGLE has been acting up behind the gate at Yonkers lately and the switch to The Meadowlands with a different starting point and gate speed might be just what the doctored ordered to get him to stay flat and win versus a questionable group. (10) FOCUS POCUS is another horse with a breaking issue, but statistically he’s the fastest in the field when right. (8) HOBBS hasn’t been able to close at Yonkers; back on the big track. Race 14: Trackmaster 71 (NW L2/2L4 71.5/72) or less (1) RAPTORS FLIGHT N got a tour of the Philly track last time leaving from post eight after five months on the sidelines. That was his first start for this barn, and take note Odza has won nine of 25 starts here this year and is 17 for 48 over the last two years. Veteran gelding should be very live in this spot. (3) HARRY HANOVER has won three of his last four over the track and you have to love his early speed. (2) AMERICAN SILKS also won his last try here, though he’s going to have to get lucky with a trip from behind.
