MEET STATS: 336-79-60-52 / $491.00 (-$181.00) BEST BETS: 25-14-4-2 / $49.60 (-.40) SPOT PLAYS: 25-6-7-2 / $45.20 (-$4.80) BEST BET: ARTIE'S IDEAL (3rd) SPOT PLAY: RIVER NESS (2nd) Race 1: Non-winners 6 races or $92,500 life - Pick 5 This could easily turn out to be a wild race depending on which of these horses decide to step up. I'll roll the dice with (9) CAVIART LOTUS, who charged home at Hoosier two starts back in 25 3/5 and now goes out with Lasix added. If the medication does its job, watch out. (6) LITERL LAD HANOVER came back from vacation strong but was facing softer foes. (1) GALLANT STAR had no shot in his first start of the year from post 9. More can be expected now. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: Non-winners 2 races or $22,500 life (3) RIVER NESS finished just a neck behind in the co-fastest mile of the morning last Saturday at the qualifiers. Note that driver David Miller didn't pull the plugs until passed on the inside and he battled back nicely. KYSS runner-up from 2021 has plenty of ability. (6) MAD MAX HANOVER has also looked good in the mornings and was a runner-up in the prestigious Governor’s Cup last year. (5) MAJORLY SEXY A and (1) ENERGETIC HANOVER have both been racing well but the top two are legitimate stakes horses. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Meadowlands card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: Non-winners $7,500 (NW L3 $8,350) in last 5/TM 83.25 or less - Survivor 7 (1) ARTIE'S IDEAL left a bit and wound up wide on the first turn before finding a tuck last week. He was quickly back to the rim uncovered and held his ground without threatening. That was just his fourth start of the year and now he gets to drop third straight week. Big win chance! (2) GRAY DRAGON was attacking the leader at the front of the pack in that same race and tired some late. He's worth a second chance in start two for this barn. (4) LEON DAVID comes off a confidence-building win versus lesser but has the ability to handle these. Race 4: $20,000-$25,000 Claiming Handicap (6) RAPTORS FLIGHT N was no match for #9 last week but a big post switch could neutralize that foe. Nine-year-old got a start back over the track last time and could be ready for even more now. (7) SO TAKE THAT drops in for a claiming tag to avoid a condition where he can't compete. Half-million earner only needs a smooth trip to have a shot. (8) WINDSONG JACK will be heading to the top and has lasted for a board spot in every start but one this year. Race 5: Non-winners $10,500 in last 5 or $13,500 in last 6/TM 84.5 (NW L3 85.4) or less (2) CHASE LOUNGE came home in 25 4/5 in her qualifier here last weekend. While it wasn't an eye-catching performance, it should serve to get her tighter and this field didn't exactly come up strong for the class. (5) MARSALA HANOVER has put up two strong qualifiers and this gal has some class. Perhaps the time on the sidelines has done her good. (3) BEYOND WORDS N and (1) SO IRRESISTIBLE are both dropping in class and either could win. Race 6: Open Trot Handicap/TM 93.25 or less - $50K GTD Pick 4 (7) LOVEDBYTHEMASSES sat at the back and had no shot last time. There seems to be enough early speed (and one less horse this time) to set up his powerful late kick. (6) HILLEXOTIC proved himself last time with a 1:51 2/5 win; threat. (5) BACK OF THE NECK takes his first step up the path to the Elitlopp. I wouldn't be shocked if he was ready but I'm not expecting a 100% performance. Race 7: Non-winners $10,500 (Not 3rd L3 $12,531) in last 5/TM 87 (NW L4 88) or less (5) BETTER TAKE IT was just even versus an overall better field in his first two starts of the year. He lands in a great spot now to race from on or off the pace and get the job done. (1) HAIL CHRISTIAN N picked up a win in the class three starts back. (4) PALOMAR also lands a good post. He's hit the ticket in his last two starts at this level. Race 8: $35,000-$55,000 Claiming Handicap - Pick 6 (1) COLOSSAL STRIDE A drops below the level of the claimed price to get a good post and now has no excuses for failure. (9) MOTIVE HANOVER is clearly facing easier in tonight's claiming race. He could be firing hard off the gate in this spot. (2) MINDTRIP is back in for a tag. While he used to be an early speed horse, new connections are doing nicely with him from off the pace. Race 9: Non-winners $20,000 in last 5/TM 89 or less (5) ROCKIN THE ACES has clearly found his form against easier and while this class is pushing the envelope for him, it is loaded with early speed that could set up for a patient horse looking to get lucky. (1) DE LOS CIELOS DEO seems like to come from off the pace as well. As usual with this guy, it's a guessing game. (7) TITO ROCKS is certainly going to make the lead and whether he can win will come down to how many horses to his outside also have that plan. Race 10: 4-Year-Old Open Pace - $50K GTD Pick 4 (6) RED RIGHT HAND has been holding his own against the best older horses at Yonkers and now winds up here in search of a race. This looks like a fine spot to place him on the front and see what he has to offer. (2) BETTORS DONTTELL was given some time off and nominated to the Graduate series, so that is clearly the goal. That said, he was quite sharp holding off Backstreet Shadow in the recent qualifier. (3) ONE EIGHT HUNDRED hasn't taken the next step quite yet but the ability is there. Race 11: TrackMaster 87.1 or less/NW $3,500 in last 5 (1) CHAMPAGNE ON ICE was just even from post 10 on a swamp-like surface here last Saturday. Mare moves inside now and should bring a better performance. (5) HENDERSON SEELSTER seems to be feeling better now but is still susceptible to a break. (7) CHIPLOSIVE has early speed and form. (8) NO DRAMA PLEASE needs some pace help but could come flying late with the right setup. Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter Race 12: Open Pace (2) WORKIN ONA MYSTERY has come back strong thus far this year. Unless he is bet off the board I'll stick with him. (5) AMERICAN HISTORY hasn't quite enjoyed racing at Yonkers but don't be shocked if he carries his speed much better on the big track. (1) LET IT RIDE N needs a bit of help up front but could certainly pounce on these late. Race 13: Non-winners $7,500 in last 5/TM 83 or less (4) BETTORS HEART N double-drops in class tonight and almost has to awaken. (6) IDEATION HANOVER finished well last week and now faces a slightly softer field overall. (3) TENTHOUSAND ANGELS makes her first start since selling for $45K through OnGait.com. Maybe new connections can figure out why she doesn't like to win as much as finish in the money. (10) STELLENBOSCH probably needs a better post to threaten for a top spot but she can hit the ticket here.
