MEET STATS: 97-35-16-13 / $196.60 (+$2.60) BEST BETS: 7-3-1-0 / $9.20 (-$4.80) SPOT PLAYS: 7-1-3-1 / $4.60 (-$9.40) BEST BET: RAILROAD STATION (6th) SPOT PLAY: BIG BAD BILL (5th) Race 1: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club Trot - Pick 5 (4) FASHION CANTAB has a bunch of wins in this class in 2024 and his return race from a two month break was solid. Verruso should be firing out and sitting a good trip. (5) BUZZ hails from a barn that has really excelled in the amateur races; big threat. (9) MASSIVE MATTER was dealt a tough outside post but does have the early speed to gain position. Still, he’ll need to be on the top of his game here. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: Kindergarten 2YO Filly Trot (3) CHAMPAGNE PROBLEMS and (2) SONMAR POND both have one start and one win in the series. A win by either will lock them into the final next Saturday. I’ll lean slightly to the former since her only subpar efforts have come in the Breeders Crown and Peaceful Way versus the best in the division. (8) R LADY W went on a roll at Plainridge. I’m not quite sure whether she can go with these yet, though Zeron chose here over #2, perhaps due to barn loyalty. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Meadowlands card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: Kindergarten 2YO Filly Trot - Survivor 7 (1) VOGUISH was spectacular last weekend and if she has anything close to that effort tonight the rest are in trouble. (5) R CHARM chased the top pick last time and she should be in play here early. (4) JERSEY SLIDE can be closer from the better post. Race 4: Kindergarten 2YO C&G Trot (6) NET WEIGHT made a strong move as part of a 27 1/5 third quarter in his career debut and jumped it off into the final turn. Gelding seems to have some size to him and may just appreciate the venue switch. At the very least the price will be huge. (4) CHEERS HANOVER is clearly the one to beat off a three-length score but hardly a lock. (8) FRANK LEAHY has been racing well but needs to get a bit faster. Race 5: Trackmaster 77 (NW L2/2L4 77.5/78.05) or less (5) BIG BAD BILL was caught in a fast mile at Freehold in his first start back from break and then got stuck outside with an amateur in the bike. Hall of Famer Miller picks up the assignment on a veteran who could get a great setup with plenty of early speed signed on. (7) GEMINI EXPRESS should be firing out and he’s got plenty of form. (1) HYPEBEAST moves to the inside of the gate now and that should allow him to take it easier early in the mile while still sticking close to the action. Race 6: Kindergarten 2YO C&G Pace - $50K GTD Pick 4 (8) RAILROAD STATION probably needs a win to make the final and I’d be shocked if Miller doesn’t send him hard off the gate. Son of Sweet Lou may not be the top dog in the Burke barn but he has plenty of ability. (3) MANOLETE is a horse I respect that shows guts every time he’s put in play. That said, he’s likely earned his spot in the final already and I would expect Zeron to be overly aggressive this week. (7) PAPIS PISTOL is fast enough to win given the right trip and the desire to behave. Race 7: Non-winners $5,000 (NW L2 $5,500) in last 4/TM 81 (NW L2/2L4 81.54/82) or less (5) STELLAR YANKEE has been stuck in some outside posts lately on the half at Yonkers and now returns to a track he likes while racing in a class where he rarely tosses in a bad effort. (7) ROCKIN THE ACES went a nice even mile off the bench; more now? (6) MARCUS SEELSTER has plenty of wins over this track and was racing in the top classes at Shenandoah. Race 8: Kindergarten 2YO Filly Pace - Pick 6 (8) DURATION drops out of the Breeders Crown where she was trapped in the elim and just even in the final. There are no excuses for coming up short here, though this isn’t an easy spot. (4) BEACH RULES was never put in play last time with Lasix added but maybe that was due to missing a few weeks of action. She’s better than that race indicates. (7) CHAKRA was huge in last week’s leg and a repeat effort makes her a major player. (1) SHES A STREAKER came up second best to #7 a week ago. Race 9: Non-winners $7,500 (NW L2 $8,351) in last 4 (5) JK BLACK GOLD rallied well last week and gets to drop in class tonight. (1) TWIN B SEAMONSTER hasn’t been here in a while but when he was those races were going in 1:49 and change. This is certainly a winning spot. (2) LOU VUITTON exits stakes company and deserves some consideration. Race 10: Winners over $10,000 in last 4 or $50,000 life - $50K GTD Pick 4 (4) TALK CURDY TO ME starts at her fourth track in four straight starts and has raced well each time. She should be heading to the front here. (2) TURN THE PAIGE N has won an amazing 15 times in 24 starts. Throw out the last mile from post eight at Yonkers. (5) INTOTHEMYSTICMOON hasn’t been out in four weeks; ready to shine? Race 11: Non-winners 2 (NW L2 3) races or $20,000 life/Maidens draw inside (9) SASSY ZAZA has been more of a bridesmaid lately but she does get an interesting switch into the Daley barn tonight and quite frankly, almost any horse could win this race. (7) BLARNEY CASTLE was second from the eight-hole at Yonkers on Wednesday and third in this class here two starts back; clear player. (5) COLD FEET moves into a new barn and adds Dunn. (8) PRIMINENCE qualified back well. There is a ton of potential early speed in this race and if they go crazy on top she’ll be flying late . . . if she trots. Race 12: Kindergarten 2YO C&G Pace (5) PAPI’S ROCKET won his first Kindergarten start last weekend and needs a decent showing here to get into the final. (6) TOM HORN can’t seem to find a win this year but has plenty of placings. (4) STEAMBOAT SPRINGS is certainly able to keep up but needs to prove he can win. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 13: Non-winners $2,000 (NW L2/2L6 $2,491/$2,770) in last 4 (10) BB LUCKY BOY comes off a scratched-sick line but drops right back in the box. He’s in the basement condition this week and more than capable of playing catch me if you can, and they might not be able to do it. (1) SPRINGSTEEN is a classy old guy that makes it back in the box after a couple of scratches. This is a winning level if he is race-ready. (2) HUNT FOR CASH can save ground and get into the exotics somewhere. Race 14: Kindergarten 2YO C&G Trot (5) TACTICAL DYNASTY wasn’t up to the competition in the Crown but should find this field right up his alley. (3) MONSERRATE woke up in a big way last week. (6) ONAJETPLANE went from super two starts back to awful last time. Perhaps it was the three weeks off.
