MEET STATS: 84-22-12-8 / $144.20 (-$23.80) BEST BETS: 6-3-2-0 / $13.60 (+$1.60) SPOT PLAYS: 6-1-1-1 / $4.20 (-$7.80) BEST BET: THREEPOINTBLUECHIP (10th) SPOT PLAY: KICKUPYAHEELS N (9th) Race 1: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club - Pick 5 (5) WAY TO CLOSE has a couple of steady performances since returning from multiple months on the sidelines. He lands in a softer field this week with the perfect post and a top amateur pilot. (4) FIRE LIGHT raced well when last seen, though that was for a different barn and just over a month ago. He was 4-5 in that race. (2) TAKEMETOTHELIMIT GB has some form and should be forwardly placed here; worth using in the Pick 5. (6) KISSINBYTHEBEACHES is another who hasn’t started since December 29. He can definitely win but usually gets overbet a bit. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: Trackmaster 71 (NW L2/2L4 71.5/72) or less - Survivor 7 I’m a bit hesitant picking (2) OH COFFEE BEAN because there is a chance he’ll be bet off the board in a debut for a barn that has started the meet off strong. That said, his form is ok coming down from Canada and he showed at Woodbine he can keep up on a big track. (1) SKYWAY BILLY did the work on the engine and finished third last time; chance if the top one doesn’t fire. (4) TRANSFER THE ERA was a winner when last seen in this class. (5) DYNOMITES PEAK came first-over and wasn’t that bad as the chalk; still winless going back to 2022. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Meadowlands card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: Non-winners 2 (NW L2 or 3YO 3) races life/Maidens draw inside (2) GUEST OF HONOR made his charted debut in a qualifier last weekend and chased home a $300K winner who is entered in the top class here on Saturday. Walner colt looked good enough to back versus a sketchy field of win-shy types. (5) I’LL OWE YOU ONE has three seconds in his last four starts; threat if top one falters. (8) COAL CREEK wasn’t bad last time after seven weeks on the bench; improves? Race 4: Non-winners $3,000 (NW L2 $3,300) in last 4/TM 77 (NW L2/2L4 77.5/78) or less - Pick 8 (4) BULLY BOY HILL jumped it off as the chalk last weekend and now he drops a notch. Can he stay flat? If so, the chances of winning are decent. (1) STARLIT RAMBO and (5) UNIQUE KEMP are two more moving down the condition ladder. The former has been racing evenly and figures to be close to the pace here. The latter rarely gets bet heavily but did win his last race in this NW3000 class. (2) TIMESTORM adds hobbles and lures David Miller off my top pick and three others. Race 5: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club (4) MARINER SEELSTER needs at least a second-place finish to top the million-dollar mark for his career. Now 15-year-old has missed a month but should be ready to fire off the gate. (2) ROCK ON LINE finally gets away from outside posts that have severely hurt his chances of winning. (5) TAKEITTOTHEFACE is always a player at this level. Race 6: Non-winners $7,500 in last 4/TM 83.5 (NW L2/2L4 84/84.5) or less - $50K GTD Pick 4 (2) WATCH ME NOW N came back from many months on the sidelines and was saddled with an outside post. She moves inside now with a start under her belt and can awaken in a hurry. (7) PATTYCAKE MOOSS dropped to NW7500 and has done very good work. She gets written into this class tonight and should be a major player. (3) LET’S MISBEHAVE was absolutely flying home last week and because of that you may be looking at a shorter price than warranted. Still, she has a legitimate chance. (9) HOT MESS EXPRESS is clearly the class of the field and she is stepping down to face easier; another wake-up candidate. Race 7: Trackmaster 74 (NW L2/2L4 74.5/75.40) or less/NW $1,000 in last 4 (3) ACEFORTYFOUR MONEY missed a month and had an outside post last time. Five-year-old tends to find her way into the race much earlier and should be able to do that tonight. (8) SUGE is back at a more comfortable level. (5) LETS RYDE GIRL has the early speed to make the front and the hint of class relief here might make a big difference. Race 8: Non-winners $5,000 (NW 2L6 $5,501) in last 4 - $5,938 Pick 6 Carryover (4) P CHICO gets class and post relief this week plus adds David Miller to the team; big shot but demand at least 2-1. (2) MASSIVE MATTER was a winner in his last try at this level and (3) IMA DIAMOND BABE just missed. The latter adds hobbles tonight. (9) CHAKE is very unreliable but capable of getting into the exotics on his best. Race 9: Non-winners $5,000 in last 4 or $6,451 in last 5/TM 80.5 or less In what is a battle of horses dropping down in class on paper but really facing similar, (1) KICKUPYAHEELS N still looked like she needed the start last week but now moves to the inside of the gate. She can sit and pounce or brush to the front from this spot. (6) LISA LANE made two moves with the second being a bold uncovered bid last Friday. She only needs a clean trip to have a shot. (2) ABSOLUTE POWER came to the rim late in the mile and had steady pace. (7) SPEAK YOUR MIND could be dangerous if she fires to the top again; barn has been ice cold though. Race 10: Non-winners $7,500 in last 4 or in 2023 - $50K GTD Pick 4 (3) THREEPOINTBLUECHIP performed very well last weekend considering he hadn’t been on the track for a pari-mutuel race since October 2022. Any improvement from that performance would make him tough to beat. (5) BUDDY EARL has been keeping up nicely in higher classes. I’d expect to see some early speed here with the Hall of Fame Miller taking over the lines. (7) ROSE RUN YANKEE is very sharp but will likely need some pace help to set up his rally. Race 11: Non-winners $3,000 (NW L2 $3,301) in last 4/TM 77.5 (NW L2/2L4 78/78.75) or less (3) CLEAR THE WAY has taken some time to get back down to speed after a number of months on the bench. Last week was a nice steady mile she can build on. Yes, she was 0-for-22 last year, but those races were in tougher spots and all on smaller tracks. (7) HUNTRESSVILLE A was sharp before the scratched-sick line last time. Miller chose here over three others. (9) DOLE WHIP was a bit flat having missed six weeks of action. This barn was never going to send them out tight so expect improvement in starts two and three. Race 12: $7,500 Claiming (3) TEXAS MIKI got a little lazy in the pocket on Tyler Miller last time but was feeling good in deep stretch. He jumps ship now but at least we get another driver who has been in the bike behind him before. (8) CHESAPEAKE SUNRISE and (6) BETTER THAN SOME are both dropping in claiming price and switching barns. Either could step up with a big effort here. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 13: Non-winners $3,000 (NW L2 $3,300) in last 4/TM 77 (NW L2/2L4 77.5/78) or less (6) VALLORIA N made a bold bid for the lead last week which showed his connections had more confidence in his second start in the barn. You’ll get another big price tonight and none of these jump off the page. (2) OH LINA raced well from behind last time and tends to perform in this NW3000 class; another potential price player. (4) LADY’S IMAGE drops in class off some awful lines; wakes up? (10) POKER PLAY switches to the best driver on the card. Race 14: $10,000-$12,500 Claiming Handicap (8) STICK WITH CRAMER returns here with a 33% reduction in claiming price and you have to think he’ll be hustled away from the gate and put in place. (6) LITTLE POWER is going to be the chalk here and certainly has good form. Fair value is likely 8-5 and that seems unlikely. (7) CONCUR was coming hard late last week, but Beckwith elected for (5) SNEAK ON BYE. Both are contenders with the right journey.
