MEET STATS: 209-64-42-23 / $343.40 (-$74.60) BEST BETS: 14-5-2-0 / $25.80 (-$2.20) SPOT PLAYS: 15-2-5-2 / $7.20 (-$14.80) BEST BET: FACTORY GIRL (10th) SPOT PLAY: FERDINAND A (1st) Race 1: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club 1 Pace - Pick 5 (7) FERDINAND A showed up with a solid effort for the first time in a long time last weekend. That positive effort could be a sign that he’s ready to pop a big mile. His best certainly wins this race. (1) DUCK INTO THE NITE was a good second two back in this class and this barn has done well at the meet. (5) MEET THE CREEPER doesn’t always get there in time but he’s always a closing threat given the right setup. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: Trackmaster 71.5 (NW L2/2L4 72/72.75) or less/NW 1 race in 2024 (10) AYR PIONEER GB changed trainers and uncorked a strong mile to win by open lengths. Post 10 presents some issues but I believe he can overcome. (4) LET’S FOAL AROUND is clearly heading towards the front and his form remains good. (6) YAYAS HOT SPOT N continues to win despite hitting age 14. His best is probably beneath some others but cold temperatures can be the great equalizer of speed. (1) BIONIC comes off a decent try and should be somewhat close to the action. (7) CLAYTONS BETTOR N is worth a look on the driver change angle. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Meadowlands card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: $7,500 Claiming - Survivor 7 (3) ROJAN’S WAY moves into a new barn and sees his claiming price take a 25% dip. In a field where none of these are trustworthy, I’ll take the expected decent price on this guy. (7) KINGOFMYHEART gets an even larger claiming price reduction in hopes of a wake-up. I wouldn’t accept a short price but he could do better here. (5) ICE HOUSE wired a field in this class last Saturday at 9-1 and he looks like the chalk now. (6) BETWEEN I N U doesn’t win much nowadays but remains a clean trip threat. Race 4: Non-winners $2,000 (NW L2 $2,560) in last 4 Here’s another field where reliability goes out the window. (5) UP JOEYS CREDIT gets class and post relief this week and shows past miles that certainly make him a good fit on the win end. (2) RAVEN BANNER N has been finishing very strong of late and I wouldn’t be shocked if somewhat more aggressive tactics were put in play here. (8) DECISION DAY visits the basement condition at the track as he takes a monster class drop. Will he perk up? Race 5: Non-winners $5,000 in last 4 or $1,500 p.s. in 2024/TM 80.5 or less (3) MASSIVE MATTER picks up a catch-driver for the first time in a long time. Six-year-old is plenty sharp and deserves a slight nod. (5) COMBS HANOVER has been racing well of late without any wins to show for it. He may need a perfect trip. (1) IMA DIAMOND BABE has hit the money more than half the time in 2024. She should sprint off the gate and be in decent position. (8) FULL STRENGTH could make some noise if he finally decides to stay trotting. (10) DRIBBLING BI was Beckwith’s choice over my top pick. Race 6: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club 1 Pace - $50K GTD Pick 4 (5) PHELGON had no real shot of success from outside posts at Philly and Yonkers. She lands in a nice mid-pack post here and might even show some early speed. (1) ROCK ON LINE fired out the last time he had pylon position and worked out a nice trip and victory. A repeat is well within reach. (4) WHAMMER JAMMER seems to be involved just about every week. He just needs a clean trip to threaten. Race 7: Non-winners $3,000 (NW L8 $3,741) in last 4 or $1,250 p.s. in 2024/TM 82.25 or less (3) PAIGE PERFECT displayed some life last week despite a bad post when dropped to this level. I can see her getting lost in the wagering here. She’s very much a contender. (2) TWIN B ECHO gets substantial class relief from what she was facing at Dover; wakes up? (1) COZ IM SPECIAL hails from the same barn as #2 and also takes a smaller step down the class ladder. Her two starts for this barn weren’t bad and tonight Lasix is added. (8) DASH N CACHE and (5) SANTAFE’S APPETITE are both going from NW5000 to NW3000. Either could step up. Race 8: $15,000-$20,000 Claiming Handicap - Pick 6 (10) CHIPLOSIVE went an even mile in his first start since February and should certainly be a bit tighter now. Eight-year-old drops in for a tag for the first time in his career and I’m expecting to see plenty of early speed to help him overcome the outside draw. (5) MILLIONDOLLARDREAM was way overbet last time and rallied for second; contender again. (6) LOUIS hasn’t been in a claimer since July. His recent form is fine and I’ll certainly use him in the exotics and perhaps on one Pick 4 ticket. (7) ALTUS HANOVER removed the shoes and landed in a perfect spot where he bottomed-out the field in the third quarter last Thursday. He could win again but I’ll probably fade him at much shorter odds. Race 9: Trackmaster 74.5 (NW L2/2L4/L8 75/75.5/76.3) or less/Opt. $12,500 Claiming There really aren’t many horses that would surprise me on the win end in this field. (4) YOU BEDA ROCK couldn’t do much from post nine last time. Her prior races were much better from inside posts. (1) ILLUSTRIOUSARDEN N moved inside at Philly and scored in her second start for the new barn. She should show some speed from the inside and have every chance. (3) RACIN FOR ROYALTY has back to back second-place finishes in this class. (7) DARK ECLIPSE N has early speed and just enough form to make some noise here. Her chances are going to come around to what trip she can work out, though that can be said about most in here. Race 10: Non-winners $7,500 (NW 2L5 $8,841) in last 4 or $1,750 p.s. in 2024/TM 83.5 or less - $50K GTD Pick 4 (7) FACTORY GIRL scored in her first start since February and I don’t think that was a fluke since she showed plenty of ability when she was younger. DiDomenico trainee steps up a level but should be able to handle the task at hand. (1) JM BETONSIX had pace on both ends of the mile against slightly better last time. In her last four starts at this level she has a win, second and third (placed ninth). (2) MADRID A was last-over in an impossible spot a week ago; stays closer from post two. Race 11: Trackmaster 74.5 (NW L2/2L4/L8 75/75.5/76.3) or less/NW $730 in last 4 or $800 p.s. in 2023-24/Opt. $12,500 Clm. (1) LINDYS LOLITA comes over from Saratoga with a great win record and really doesn’t face a difficult group to beat. She’s not worth a short price but seems like a reasonable play. (4) ROCKFORD PEACH sheds her trainer in the bike and returns to a catch-driver. That could make a difference. (7) KAY SAGE has a number of decent efforts at this level and she also owns enough early speed to gain valuable early position. Race 12: Non-winners $3,000 in last 4 or $1,250 p.s. in 2024/TM 77.50 (NW L2/2L4 78/78.6) or less (3) ROBERT MICHAEL scored at first asking for the new barn but hit a bump in the road last time as the heavy chalk. He plenty fast enough to win here. (6) CONGRESS HILL EVA has a win and a second in her last two starts in this class. (4) FASHION KEN has gone off form of late. Will the class drop here change his fortune? [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 13: $10,000-$12,500 Claiming Handicap (5) RAPTORS FLIGHT N went a big mile in defeat last time from post nine on the claiming price reduction to 10K. This looks like a great spot for success. (8) FRANCO TOTEM N took six months off and clearly needed some races to get into shape. Classy veteran could be ready to pop here. (6) BARON CHANCEY has speed and decent form; using underneath. (10) SHRIMP AND GRITS broke in his first start for the new barn. His best would be competitive and you should get a huge price. Race 14: Non-winners $2,000 (NW L2/L5 $2,200/$2,400) in last 4 or 2 races in 2024 (9) MR KNOWITALL took plenty of air first-over last time and held reasonably well. I’ll stick with him in another pari-mutuel puzzler. (4) BLUE BAYOU DEO always gets away a bit on the slow side and that put her in a bad spot from the outside post. She can stick closer here. (7) THE PRINCE kept his act together with hobbles added; more now?
