MEET STATS: 28-9-2-3 / $33.60 (-$22.40) BEST BETS: 2-2-0-0 / $8.20 (+$4.20) SPOT PLAYS: 2-1-0-0 / $4.20 (+$.20) BEST BET: MISTER GODRO (7th) SPOT PLAY: MISSILE (12th) Race 1: Non-winners $3,000 in last 4/TM 77.5 or less - Pick 5 (3) PHELGON was in the outer flow in a slow race last time with no chance of getting to the top ones. Miller has the option of gunning out in this spot and scoring a mild upset over (2) SAUBLE DELIGHTFUL, a Yonkers shipper dropping a number of classes but unraced for a month. (6) SUGE has been hitting the bottom of the exotics quite consistently. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: Trackmaster 71 (NW L2/2L4 71.5/72) or less - Survivor 7 (2) DOCTOR BUTCH seems to be getting a few starts in before going back to stallion duty and he’s been racing ok of late. Was surprised David Miller chose #7 but at least that means the price will rise dramatically. (3) MARVALOUS ONE drops out of the same race as the top pick and finished just ahead of him that night. (6) ROCKABILLY CHARM had no shot from an outside post in his last try over this surface. Don’t be shocked if he is sent to the front this time around. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Meadowlands card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: Non-winners $3,000 in last 4/TM 77 (NW L2 77.5) or less (10) THE AMERICAN EAGLE qualified back in decent order and certainly has the early speed to overcome the difficult outside post. Against a weak field he can overcome. (4) SHINKANSEN is certainly going to the top and if he brings a similar effort to last time he’ll be tough. (5) FIX-IT-UP has been disappointing since the barn chance but was a bit better last time. Race 4: Trackmaster 74 (NW L2/2L4 74.5/75.01) or less - $1,147 Pick 8 Carryover (8) CAMLACHIE CHROME gets a condition change and seems to be down in class versus this group. Anything close to a top effort would make him a major win player. (3) JK LUCKY CHARMS hasn’t started in four weeks but does enter a barn that won its only start of the year. If this stable is ready to get hot after a slow fall meet, watch out. (9) TYRONSBITOFLEMON N rolled to an impressive win versus lesser to close out 2023. Can he repeat that performance from a much tougher post? Race 5: Non-winners $7,500 in last 4/TM 83 (NW L2 83.5) or less (7) SIDD FINCH dropped and added Miller last time while putting in an impressive performance. In a field with a number of possibilities, he gets a slight edge. (9) LEXUS RANGER could be the last of the early speed horses to make the front; very sharp. (8) DW’S POINT MAN is likely to race from behind and if they mix it up like it appears on paper, this guy will be charging late. (4) CONRAD DIPOGGIO IT was rolling to an easy win when he blew up at the wire last week. Now with two breaks in a row, can we trust him? Race 6: Non-winners $7,500 (NW 2L7 $8,250) in last 4 or 4 races life/TM 83.5 or less - $50K GTD Pick 4 (4) LET’S MISBEHAVE has missed a few weeks of action but certainly is fast enough to play with this group. Horse has gone off even money or less in three straight and you should get value this time. (6) SANTAFE’S APPETITE is on quite a roll and it’s getting to the point where playing against her is risky. (3) GOT SEXY SCARS and (1) PATTYCAKE MOOSS are both down in class and either could awaken in a hurry. Race 7: $7,500 Claiming (2) MISTER GODRO has been very good since the claim three starts back and seems to have landed in the perfect spot to go back to back in the win column. (10) ODDS ON BOCA RATON drops back down in claiming price and seems likely to show early speed. (7) SNEAK ON BYE has been winning every other week. Can the new barn keep the cycle alive? Race 8: Non-winners $5,000 (NW L2 $5,501) in last 4/TM 80 (NW L2/2L4/2L7 80.5/81/81.25) or less - Pick 6 (1) TOP ME OFF certainly improved in start two for new trainer Per Engblom and this barn in general seemed to come alive last week after a slow start. (3) STARLIT RAMBO finished just a half-length behind the top pick last time and will certainly offer better value here. (10) SMART AS HILL should be a pretty big price and he’s not out of this with a smooth journey. (4) WAY OFF BROADWAY raced well in start one for this stable and the only question this week is the month on the sidelines. Race 9: Non-winners $3,000 in last 4/TM 77.5 or less (1) SWEDISH STARLET N sprinted home in 26 4/5 with no shot last time and now drops a class. I’d expect her to show up with a big effort. (5) HUNTRESSVILLE A has been sharp and this barn was sending out nothing but live horses a week ago. (4) WINDSUN MOJITO picked up a win against softer last out and can certainly be involved for an exotics spot at least tonight. Race 10: Non-winners $10,000 (NW L2 $11,000) in last 4/TM 85 or less - $50K GTD Pick 4 (4) TOCCOA FALLS was done in by an early miscue last time when he was facing a better overall field. He has the perfect post this week and just needs to fire his best. (3) SOME CHAPTER steps up off a sharp win. Seven-year-old is more than capable of succeeding here with a decent setup. (7) NEXTROUNDSONME has been very consistent; another trip threat. Race 11: Non-winners $2,000 (NW L2 $2,200) in last 4 This is a bottom-level conditioned race and it is hard to get excited about any of these on the win end. (7) SEE YOU FRIDAY drops multiple classes out of a 15K claimer. We’ve seen early speed from him before and I’d expect some tonight. (9) ROLLINWITHDAPONYZZZ and (8) DRAGON FLY CREEK are both getting driver upgrades as they exit amateur races and either could show more now. Race 12: Non-winners $5,000 (NW L2 $5,501) in last 4/TM 80 (NW L2/2L4/2L7 80.5/81/81.25) or less (2) MISSILE had no room early in the stretch and finished up willingly when he found it late. Class drop and a good post should make him formidable. (8) MASSIVE MATTER is another one down in company who should be comfortable in this condition. He’s won here before. (6) JETT RINK was used last time and weakened late; can do with smoother trip. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 13: Trackmaster 74 (NW L2/2L4 74.5/75) or less (5) EVAS SPORTS CZECH was absolutely loaded with pace when Miller showed her daylight in the stretch last time. Against a blank field she looks like a potential odds-on winner. (6) GOTTALOVEMYSHADOW is the lone early outside speed on paper and I expect she’ll be put in play. (1) MAGGIE AT BAT is against more experienced foes but seems to be a fit from a time perspective. Race 14: Non-winners 2 (NW L2 3) races or $20,000 life (5) ENZO AGUELLO arrives here from The Meadows via a $13,000 online purchase. New barn, new trainer, new track and weak competition could be just what he needs to succeed. (3) I’LL OWE YOU ONE was super last time and only lost to a foe that was odds-on; very dangerous on the win end. (4) OVER THE RIVER AS looks fast enough to consider if he decides to trot this week.
